Bookshelf Speakers for Record Player (Sub $1k)

As the title suggests, looking for some compact (powered) bookshelf speakers to pair with my record player (simple AT-PL50) but will likely eventually upgrade it.

Happy to spend up to about $1000 and have had the recommendation to get the Kanto YU6 but curious as to what other people think.

 

Tannoy gold or reveal monitors in which ever size you like

 

I've had some Kanto yumi bookshelf speakers for a couple of years now, for the TV. They benefited from having an active sub, but sounded great enough without it.
I found it difficult to source them in Australia last time looked. Where have you found some?

 

Lots of options to choose from:
Klipsch r41-pm or 51, or stretch your budget to the Fives
Yamaha HS7 or HS8
Tannoy range
Then more multimedia brands like audioengine or edifier


Does your turntable have a built in phono preamp, or do you need the speakers to have a phono input?

 

The turntable does have a preamp so shouldn't need the speakers to have one. I'll look into the Tannoy range and the Klipsch 41/51/Fives. Thanks guys!
