Because I don't like playing with strangers. I loved the solo aspect of BL2 but also that I could invite some friends if I wanted to... but I didn't have to.

You can still do this with online only.

There is no way they would force coop partners in a game like Borderlands, that would be chaos. Some people also only have 1-2 friends, nobody wants an annoying stranger to make a 4th player.

kreegor said he doesn't want to play with strangers.

I'm reassuring him that they won't force strangers to play with him in Borderlands 3.

being online doesn't force anyone to play with others.

I might be misunderstanding how it works but basically I love offline single player games where no other real life person exists in the game anywhere except for those who I have invited or who have invited me.

kreegor - online looter shooters do not force you to play with others.

See - The Division, Destiny, etc.

Lol fair enough. I haven't played any of those so have no idea about it. The last online game I played was BF4

Well ignore everything I've just said then :D

I was just hoping it wasn't going to be like Fallout 76 style of online only.

lol, going way off track already. But out of interest, how do you not have other players in your game in destiny 2?
I'm not really one for playing with randoms, and that shat me to tears in destiny 2 so I moved on.

If you were in a specific mission it would be solo, but doing side stuff etc. I found no way to play without other people running around taking out bosses and destroying stuff before I even got near them.

Borderlands 2 had it right where it was solo, unless you invite someone specifically. An option to play with randoms would be fine, so long as I can still play in hobbit mode by myself without need for internet. Nothing worse than getting lagged or a random disconnection during a single player game.

On that note, I might go fire it up again. It's been a while. :D
