Finally dropped the hammer and have ordered the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD Lens for Sony, from Georges.

I had been waiting for the Sigma however it won't be in stock until June. The Sony GM was the other contender however I prefer a cheaper and lighter option, and putting the difference toward an A7III. I'm hoping the A7IV will be announced soon so prices come down.

Late this year on the A74

But really dont see the A73 coming down in price any further. At $1900 after cash back it's already a steal.

10 months after ordering (EOFY Sales 2020) from Digidirect I have finally received my new xlite 140cm strip softbox, 120cm octbox and beauty dish.....

Looking forward to testing them soon!

Picked up this from digiDirect ebay at under half grey market price, and well under what most people are selling them for second hand. No idea why it was so cheap, but ill take it.

Has a good weight to it, and feels really nice in the hand. Yet to fire it up, but it should complement my EM5 Mk3 nicely for travel stuff.

I’ve been tempted by them for a while. But price too high when I already have a G9 that I don’t use…

Finally got my new baby and back into photography but focusing on infrared mostly… I love the versatility of mirrorless and the magnetic filters for normal operation still!

No issues with focus distance / shift on mirrorless from what I have seen as the focusing takes place at the sensor :)

I have a similar "clip-in" filter for my Sony and I absolutely love it. I can change lenses and not have to worry about filters.

Yeah its great for flexibility as you can restore an IR camera to normal, astro work etc. With the EF adapter you could stack filters up to 3 stages deep if you really wanted to. Drop in filters make IR so much easier also at the adapter.

Finally joined the autofocus revolution, copped a Samyang 35/2.8 for my A7III.

It's going to take me a while to get used to this whizz bang new technology, but so far I quite like the lens. It is delightfully short and light- reminds me of a 50/1.8 in that way. Can't wait to be out of house arrest so I can use it on something interesting.

Also nabbed a Elgato desk pole mount and little ATEN USB UVC widget to improve my Zoom game, will report back on those.

That 35mm is indeed a lot of fun ^catalyst :) I used it a lot more when I was travelling out and about, which of course isn't a thing at the moment... but it's also a nice one to just have attached for family outings to get those snapshots and group photos, if you have to have them

Hey mate, what brand and model of filters did you get? I've only got the Canon branded ones but interested in more variety like yours.

Ah, I was thinking more about NDs. But still, cool to see that the 3rd party market has caught up with these drop in filters.
