The creativeness and ingenuity is astounding.
Stuff like this inspires us less skilled into giving it a go.

What I love about this stuff is that, the things you learn along the way, can be applied to so much more in the future. This increases your ability to solve practical challenges that emerge throughout life.

A mate with a CNC router cut a base for me with a 3D file from thingyverse. I have a big block of wood to glue and screw to the bottom of it to give it weight, then I will paint it all up pretty.

I welded a stand post and bracket to mount the Viper on. The intake fan blades are made out of the metal lid on a pack of cut off disks. The detailing in the back of the exhausts is cable ties.

More details and painting to go, but getting close now.

After filling in a few gaps and framing the canopy with cable ties, I set to work painting it up today, as well as working on the display stand.

Late one last night, making the details for the engine access panels and mounting the cannons.

For the engine, I turned a bit of scrap wood on the lathe, then cut it in half for a mirror image on each side. I used bits of coathangar wire and electrical wire to make the fuel lines, then turned the little upside down filter out of a bit of dowel and glued it all up.

    Nose panel for avionics next.

Last night's work. 2am to bed.

Bits of random wood, tie wire, electrical wire, strips of aluminium sheet, toothpicks and chopped up cable ties - whatever is laying around to get the job done. Superglue made life a little easier too.

    ^^^ LOL! Thanks mate. :D

These little details were fiddly, but I go there in the end. Only a couple of panels left to go now. Stickers and weathering is fast approaching, then I'm ready to move on to the next model.

Top engine details. Started with some old dowel and turned it to size.

Well now, the build is finished! I have a compressor on the way to use with my new Iwata Eclipse airbrush, and the decals are also in the works. I will put them on and weather it using the airbrush, but all the building is DONE!

I ordered some custom decals to be made by Tango papa Decals in the US. They arrived this week and I couldn’t wait to apply them. All applied now, just some weathering with the airbrush to finish it off.
