I had this same phenomenon on a Facebook Robocop group, (Where I was crucified and subsequently left the group.) Bagging of the new 209 and posting pictures and cheer squads for the old 209. Weird.

This didn't happen at all for the new Viper VS the old Viper, nor the umpteen Mk versions of the Iron Man suits VS the MkIV I made, so I'm a bit curious as to why.

I'm building an apple, not an orange. Two totally different things, but still fruit. Can we please keep the Holden conversations out of a Ford topic? Is that fair enough?

    Thanks guys.

    Baz.

P.S. I woke up to this with no coffee.

I don't understand the last few comments either. I guess Robocop is such an iconic 80's movie that for people of a certain age the new one could be seen as a bit sacrilegious. That conflict might not exist for Iron Man or the Viper. But whatever the subject is, your project is an impressive undertaking and I'm keen to see how it develops.

Wow, these are awesome, do you have kids who play with them, or you keep them to yourself ?

Thanks mate. Well, they are mine, but eventually everyone will get to enjoy them.

I did mate. Now replacing all the paper parts with metal, wood and plastic.

    Adding details.

Starting with a few layers of plywood to the right thickness, I chiselled, filed, drilled and sanded some details, adding other blocks and pieces of wood to layer in extra interest.

Thanks mate. I'm waiting for the next lot of CAD former drawings of the engines to arrive so I can continue with the Viper build, so this is a good fill-in project to keep idle hands busy.

Every now and then, I get a chance to scoot outside and tinker with bits of wood. Using every little opportunity, even if it's a stolen five minutes, it's amazing what can happen.

Have you considered a CNC Router?

So after you build the 209, are you building a robocop suit for yourself? :p

Suit for myself? Heck no! I think I'm done with armoured suits for a while.

I have access to a CNC router, but it's at work and I don't feel comfortable pushing the favours too much. Besides, doing it at home by hand is fun and in the end, more satisfying.

I'm completely blown away at your modelling skills! And what a bad arse project as well.

If anyone has access to a ThreeZero figurine of the 2014 ED209, there's a couple of areas I'm interested in to find out how it all connects. All the videos and photos I've seen so far just don't show it well enough.

Need to get right in with a camera and/or video to show in all those nooks and crannies that are usually missed by a quick pan around the outside.

    I'm trying to find out

    1. How the head is joined to the body and,

    2. how the two big round parts in between the arms join to everything.
