I can't afford the replacement polycarbonate yet mate. Patience while I save some pennies.

I've not had time to check out the final build pics, but just wanted to say a big congrats for getting this incredible project over the line Baz.
I'm sure I'll be just as impressed as I always am with your work. I greatly admire your commitment and problem-solving skills.
There's always a lot to be learned from every one of your threads, cheers once again for that mate.

Ed: just scrolled back and yep, looks pretty bloody spotless mate.
I love that you built the scale model to suss out the transport arrangements too, that's the kind of attention to detail that we've come to know and love from Builds By Baz! :D
Congrats again mate, incredible project, so well done.

And for that, you rock sir!! Take a pat on the back yourself!

Thanks mate. I also gleaned a lot of good advice from the members of this forum, so you can all take a bow for being a part of it, regardless of how big or small.

I hope this build inspires others to go out there with nothing and build their way up to it, as I did.

    Baz.

Awesome project and it looks fantastic - Silly question how are you going to get the wings past the shelf - it looks like the wings are wider than the gap...

I have made a decision, that I will NOT be posting WIP photos of the Viper trailer build.

I have already had too many keyboard warriors and, "experts" mouthing off. I have good help and guidance from people in the industry, so I'm fine.

This means the Viper group is going to be pretty quiet for some time and honestly, I need the break.
I might even be able to head out bush a bit more.

Rest assured that as the money comes in over the next few months, I will be cutting, drilling, bending and welding like a crazy man at every opportunity.

Happy new year and may 2024 fill your buckets.

    Baz out.

One of the nice things about living in straya is that no matter where you live, it's never too far to just piss off up the road and out away from people for a bit whenever you need to. :)
I feel absolutely no doubt in publicly stating that you of all people shouldn't have to justify your design decisions or build process to Armchair Experts.
Your previous projects speak for themselves mate. But everyone's always got their 2 cents to add about how you could have done it better eh.
While doing absolutely SFA themselves, apart from posting their opinions from behind a keyboard. The world is full of mostly useless yet highly opinionated folk. Disregard them always.

Best wishes to you and yours for 2024, cheers.

Enjoy your time away from the spotlight and enjoy building as and when you can, as always to the best of your ability.

With everything you've made you've given pleasure to those viewing the logs, but more importantly the kids at the hospital and charity events that you have done. The smiles on the kids faces and the memories of the time they and their families spent with you is testimony to what you've achieved. You've given families memories to treasure.

Happy New Year to you, your family and team that have helped you so far Baz. Shut off from the keyboard warriors and enjoy the memories of the days you've had with your mates displaying your fantastic builds.

So far I've not been able to raise the money I need to purchase steel, suspension, braking and electrics to build this trailer. I have a heap of stock on my shop, but no luck selling yet.

In my bored state of waiting, I decided to gather together some scrap aircraft engine parts, shed offcuts, a rusty old steel bucket and a box of brass and copper scrap components.

I put together a bit of a FrankenBaz engine facade, totally non-cannon, and cut a hole to fit it into the top of the port engine nacelle. I soldered my first circuit board ever and gave it some blinking lights to bring it to life.

    I like it.

Here's how simple and fast it is to fit a wing to the Viper as a one-man operation.

I actually got a notification for this one, youtube working as advertised, who'd have thought?
More like this please mate. Always cool to see how your project designs end up coming together in a practical "how is this actually going to work in the real world" sense.

Just finished another two sets of Japanese kitchen knives that I'm going to use to fund the trailer for the Viper.

That is super cool - should have known you would have a way to make it simple - but that design is one of the best I've seen - easy to do and looks incredibly stable when fitted.

I knew it was big, I didn't realise it was inches to spare big...
Love the updates, please keep them coming as this is a fantastic project...
