as i was just about to ask what pic bridge was...

    * PictBridge is a new industry standard for direct printing that allows you to print images without using a computer by directly connecting digital cameras and digital camcorders to a printer, regardless of the devices' brand and model.

I dont think that will work for me somehow.. because my printer doesn't have a port to connect to the camera, and the usb plugs are different :(

Edit: only canon and sanyo printers :( dam epson..

hmmm, one bad thing I noticed about the IXUS 400, after taking 210MB of photos and movies in three hours:

When I was as at the Craig David concert with my gf, I was taking a few movies. Because we were sitting at the back, I had to zoom. however...
the camera won't zoom in a movie clip! :(

It also wont change any brightness settings during a movie clip. So if you start filming in the sun keep filming and go into a dark place say inside, you won't be able to see anything inside.

I was wondering if this happens with other cameras?

    yeah, blardy hell :(

I could zoom with my old Fuji camera... same as my old Sony camera... and the white balance was auto too! :(

I noticed this ages ago.. I just had to come to accept it.. you just have to start a new movie when you wish to change zoom / brightness.

If you want a video camera buy one. if you want to take photos buy a film/digital camera. The movie mode it still pretty good considering the size of the camera, and the fact it isn't a movie cam.

true... and it makes up for it by having unlimited length movies :)

Unlimited length? Isn't it capped at 3mins per clip?

    I don't think so.

But then again, the longest clip I took was only 2 minutes :D

IXUS400 was a great seller when I worked at GD. Almost as popular as the A70 :p

While I didn't hear feedback, no one bought one and then complained to us! :)

Ummm, if it is a DSLR it isn't going to be taking movies. That isn't how they work, unless it is a pretend DSLR (look-a-like)

sorry, I should say it's the hybrid stepping stone between DSLR and Dcompact.
