    So I downloaded Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order when I had a Game Pass subscription that included it. It gets installed via the EA App. EA App now, I have no Game Pass subscription, lists it as unavailable and mousing over it in the library says "An incompatible version of this game is installed on your device. Uninstall the EA app version to launch."

    I now own a copy of it on Steam that I just bought in the sale, and in fact, in the EA App, it shows Steam in the top left of the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in my library.

    Problem? Well, the Game Pass/EA App version of the game that the EA App wants me to uninstall is still on my SSD, taking up over 50GB, and the EA app is treating it as not existing since it's now linked to my Steam copy I haven't installed yet. Meanwhile, trying to just delete the folder tells me it needs admin permission and only lets me hit try again, which fails over and over.

    Is it in your list of installed applications in the control panel of your pc? Try uninstalling it from there.

    Otherwise you might need to claim permissions on the folder and delete. Crap like this is why I won't touch the MS storefront or gamepass again.

    Haha been so long since I used add/remove programs to uninstall a game since all of them are via Steam or the like, that I totally forgot about that. It worked thanks.

    The game probably had it's own uninstaller too in;

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order\unins000.exe

    or

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\EAInstaller\Jedi Fallen Order\Cleanup.exe

    Use this:
    https://uninstalr.com/

    I used it last week to remove the remainder of a game launcher (that had been uninstalled along with all the games that used it) that was blocking a new version of the launcher with a new game because it was looking for install files in a long deleted folder. It took a couple restarts but it got it all out and I was able to install the new version.
