i just bought a pack of assorted capacitor's and i dont understand the coding.

    heres some examples

    2A154K
    224K(K is underlined)
    2A333J

how do i work these out into uF or pF values ?

The 3 digit number before the K or J is what you need to read. Capacitors (except for electrolytics) are rated in picofarads. The first two digits are the value and the third is the exponent, or power of ten (or number of zeroes). Therefore, a cap marked 224 is 22 x 10^4, or 220000pF, or 220nF, or 0.22uF - take off three zeroes to convert from pF to nF and take off another three to go from nF to uF. The letter denotes the tolerance

ignore the "2a" , the letter is the tolerance, so J means it is 5%, K means 10% and so on.
