Found one stuck pixel on my panel, didn't notice it when I was testing yesterday. Blue/green colour, varies in intensity but the dot pitch is so fine it's hard to see unless you're looking for it. Will try the dead pixel fixer overnight and see how that goes.

I'll happily give feedback and answer any questions I can once mine turns up.

To answer your question, I'm going to steal this shamelessly from silentlightning's post above*:

Achieva Shimian -QH270-Lite also known as QH270-IPSBS, No Glass, Speakers, No Scalar, only Dual Link DVI Input, Easy Access Vesa Mounting

Yamasaki Catleap Q270 There are five versions of this monitor. All these versions have a vesa mount but you must rip open the case to access it.

*Above if you use 50 posts per page, like I do. Also, silentlightning credited the text to Roland00Address on AnandTech

It's non-Vesa. You actually have to take the monitor apart to remove the stand support.

So hang on which one do you buy to get 97hz etc working? Or are they unavailable now?

They were the 2B revisions which aren't being sold as far as I know. People on overclock.net are looking at having custom OC-able PCBs made to fix this.

Domokun, the original power adaptor works fine on this Yamasaki, doesn't it?

Ok well if anyone has a 2B revision here that they are willing to sell, I would be willing to pay $500pp for it. Just PM me.

Sure does. They don't include the Australian cord, obviously, but most people have spares anyway.

So, how many of you have actually had these running at 100hz? I hear its a bit of luck of the draw as to wether you get one that can run that refresh rate.

It might be the angle and area of the wallpaper, but it looks a lot more vibrant than the Dell 23"s.

Nice little setup you have there. :D I should have mine tomorrow, so I'll post pics if I can.

you arent the only one thinking that :), though it is a lot more pronounced in the photo than IRL

the U2311H is the most annoying because of the LED/CCFL difference and unchangeable colour temp which is quite different to the Q270, but def not what i would consider bad though they are all very nice monitors :)

No photos for now, but I'm up and running. OH MY GOD! I take it most of you moved from 24" screens, well mine was a 21.5". Just wow.

    I moved from 2x 20" screens, so it's quite a difference.

Anyway, I compared the Yamakasi Catleap Q270 SE to an ASUS PA238Q. I took a photo comparing them, but it didn't turn out so good. Anyway, the Yamakasi Catleap Q270 SE had better contrast and didn't seem as washed out, but it had a slightly greener tint as well. It's worth noting that the ASUS PA23Q comes colour calibrated from the factory. Obviously, the Yamakasi Catleap Q270 SE is way bigger at 27" than the ASUS PA23Q at 23", but the positioning in the photo doesn't accurately portray this.

I don't think photos can do the screen justice, in terms of size comparison. It's only when you sit in front of it that you really feel it. I either have to sit a little further back or turn my head slightly to focus comfortably on any corner of the screen - they're just so far apart. Obviously that's great for immersion's sake. The higher PPI coupled with the distance you need to sit at means everything is so much more seamless in games. The first thing that hit me was how smooth the outlines of characters in TF2 were.

3D games through an emulator rendering at 1920x1440 (aspect) look pretty damned sweet, too.

I've ordered 2 (from different sellers).

Ordered one a couple of days ago, but havn't received any word on when they will ship.

Noticed another seller has them listed now - samsung_korea (Of course they won't be official samsung sellers).

The thing that attracted me was they list zero bright dot in the add, which most other places charge extra for (Could be there as a mistake, but it's there nonetheless).

One of my q270's has just been delivered. Pity I'm at work.

Ordered from green-sum last Wednesday night, so pretty fast postage.

Half tempted when i have money to do a three monitor setup. Then i would need more than 1 GTX680. Sigh.

I just learned of these on XS, I had never heard of them before, so Im keen to see how you guys go with them. How can these be kept so quiet when they seem to have everything we want ..... and so cheap.... its win-win.

Are you guys buying from ebay? Are the Yamakasi and the Achieva the same screen? Any difference at all?

Why do none of the ads mention refresh rate? Has this been neutered as mentioned in the OP? Why did you guys all go with green-sum? Coz silent did?

Edit: green-sum has 17 ads for the same screen running simultaneously.... wtf ? All different prices, but there were 5 different models?

Edit: do you buy this screen or the samsung 27" 120Hz for $399 delivered?
