Just watched the CES 2006 Bill Gates Webcast last night, for people who have watched it what is the Triple monitor setup that he uses at the desk. Some good info in general if you have time to watch it.

    -The Screens looks almost translucent.
-It uses a 3 screen setup with no borders (almost looks like glass)
-It Covers your FOV (field of view)

This is the link to the webcast from ces 2006:

    http://www.microsoft.com/events/executives/billgates.mspx

You see the Monitor system at about 13min 20Seconds in from the start of the web cast.

Does anyone know the brand or company that makes them or is developing these systems??? Any info would be great.

    Cheers Rob

Where can I get one of those monitors (the first one shown at "home")?!? And wtf is the OS he is using on it? Very interesting indeed. I can see a lot of compatibility issues arising though. :(

    7:46 - Curved screen - coolness :)
13:21 - the screens DM talked about. Nice!
**:** - Shapiro should really get some Presenter lessons...
    29:30 - Tabbed Browsing - nice implementation/features
    37:15 - Vantoffler - smooth yet slimey...
44:20 - Timberlake - this is so lame.
    1:36:53 - omg - BG hits like a girl....lol
**:** - A nice Fight Night demo - worth watching.

Not having watched it, is it Vista? That would make sense.

You guys see the table that he puts his mobile on and it displays the desktop, if found one at an airport like that...it would be at my house as a coffee table :D

I actually yawned watching this keynote. There was nothing there that excited me and made me say cool at all. It felt like it took forever for Bill to come to the stage and when he does I yawned until I had watery eyes.

Nothing in Vista, tabbed browsing was lame, every browser in the world must have this by now except IE. No mention of security what so ever. Just showing off flashy graphics of what this new OS can do when the mac OS already have these features.

Demonstrations although were cool I think they were very unrealistic in my opinion. The phone put on the table, place card on top to ID? Aint gonna happen! Big screen to leave notes, track where everyone is etc...? Aint gonna happen for a while.

Justin Timberlake - I actually think this guy has become nothing more than a joke. Bring on the ladies instead! Queen Latifa would have been better than him.

Fight night - no opinion on that...lame i suppose.

Microsoft is a company that is pretty much dead in the water right now. They have brought nothing to the table in this keynote and was a complete waste of time.

Our visitors centre here in Mandurah has a screen like what steelykeneely has linked to.

The screen seems to just be a piece of diffused plastic, with a data projector behind it, at night it seems okay, during the day in full sunlight it is pretty useless, I would imagine if the screen had a better location out of direct sun it would be more viewable.

Our unit also has a special keyboard panel mounted behind the glass, through the glass the user can control the PC interface. I guess it is pressure sensing, does the job okay, but using a keyboard-mouse cursor is pretty annoying, specially on a glass window!

Removed IMG tags, do not link an image that you are not hosting yourself.

Microsoft is about as Dead in the Water as: (and possibly as poor)

I dont think it really matters what Vista is or does so long as its in colour, and has a mouse pointer Joe can push around the screen it will be the worlds number one OS when its released.
