DOA does happen...
its not a bad display. black levels not so hot. everything else is ... ok. 4k looks nice and sharp on a small 49"
i tried to calibrate but its pretty much just brightness and contrast, and cool, standard, warm colours.
how was that for a professional review?
A little long
I don't understand it... was too technical for me.
sound is terrible. buoght a soundbar: Yahaha YAS 108B which should kick butt.
these tvs are less value if you gotta buy a sound bar :/
but picture quality I am quite happy with, after watching blade runner 2049 ultraHD last night.
God yes the sound is terrible. Lol
But I always knew that. Tbh if you’re getting a 4K tv, chances are you’re not going to be using the included speakers anyway.
No CIE "horse-shoe" chromaticity diagram, no care.
Even the good tellies all have shit sound these days (unless they come with a soundbar style addon). That's the price you pay for ultra thin, no-bezel designs.
coming soon this year.... ultra wide bezels with built in subwoofers.
Here's my review:
I'm sure its fine as a TV, but It's freaking terrible as a PC monitor, or gaming TV monitor.
Terrible input lag
Terrible backlight non-uniformity
No audio other than 3.5mm out - no ARC, no optical
I had all kinds of junk and debris under the glass, all over the panel, huge pieces near the bottom
Dead pixel out of the box
I don't believe the 178deg viewing angles
RGBW subpixels, not RGB --> USELESS as a computer monitor, sigh.
Link please. Been eyeing off 4K for a year but still scared off by what I perceive as 2015 pricing.
... You're comparing a cheap and nasty TV to a computer monitor? Is you stoopid?
Also, dead pixel and 'junk and debris under the glass' isn't a judgement of the quality of the tv, more the manufacturing process.
Did you edit your post after I replied the first time?
They're not less value if you've gotta buy a soundbar. For the average consumer the speakers are fine, but the majority of people who are buying a TV like this usually won't be using it at least without a home theatre...
i may have. this soundbar is really great. sometimes it is $160 on special. i think i paid $180 delivered on amazon.
if you consider you now have sound better than nearly all tvs, its a good option.particularly because you can bluetooth to it and use it for background music for dinner parties or while cleaning.
anyway i really love the setup. quality is great.
heres something i fucked up though.
bought a 4K bluray player from USA, and plugged it in, and it blew up!!!!!!!!!!!
aparently it didnt have a 120/240 switching PSU!!! BOOM!
Oops. Did it come with an AU power cable?
no i sought out a usa to au converter from the garage... i didnt even consider such a high tech low power device to not be switchable these days!

Hey, so one thing I've noticed, getting it to natively support any 4k is a pain in the ass.
I can't find a list of the refresh rates it supports, if anybody has an idea?
