The way they have worded it, it seems legit.

License is for Life time Validity and doesn't expire you only pay once

These keys will activate, but use will be contrary to the license conditions.

I understand that people don't like the idea of paying annually, but that also includes 1TB of online space and the latest version whenever it updates. At ~$100 / year vs $650 why wouldn't you want annual, most people would upgrade more than once every 6 years making the annual a better value.

Of course, Home and Student is only $189 from Officeworks and is a decent option for people who don't want the annual charge:

A couple years ago I bought 2 keys of office 2016 pro off a guy in gumtree for $35, one for me, one for the Mrs not really caring where the keys came from.
They activated fine, was real happy.

Wipe my hard drive and Mrs hard drive 18 months later and they won't activate, not even over the phone. Spoke to a person twice and they both told me they were expired MSDN license keys and will not activate again, ever.

Since then I'm now looking at getting a 365 subscription.

OP, the same may possibly happen to you.

Yep, that was the big scam going at the time. At least you were able to 18 months for your money though.

Sale has been pulled. Likely been reported.

When it comes to IT and Ebay, buying hardware is OK, but Product Keys are bad juju. This is a perfect example of that.

Even better, these days if your employer uses Office 365 you can usually install it on your own machine for free! Sadly our work has actively blocked this function so I'm back buying renting office again. Mind you I don't think that $100 / year for 5 users with 1TB of cloud storage and all the Office applications is a bad deal at all.

There is almost a certain guarrentee that M$ product licenses get pulled down for software and licensing violation on ebay. I remember over a decade ago I was trying to sell my Windows XP Pro SP3 disc and license I bought for retail, I lost the disc but had the box with license COA still unpeeled. Threw it on ebay for .99c start bid for somebody willing to build an XP machine with a valid license but they need to download the ISO from MSDN and within 5 minutes my listed was pulled.
