A little off topic, but if you don’t ask you don’t know… As a kid in the 80s I always watched people making instant coffee or drip coffee where they filled the cup up with hot black stuff then added a dash of milk to make a “white” coffee. In my world black meant just fill it with coffee, white meant leaving enough space for that dash of milk. As you have all just said, modern coffee shop coffee just doesn’t do it for me either as it’s mostly milk. When I make my own either with my machine at home or aero press at work I fill a mug with coffee then add a tiny dash of milk… So what is this called in coffee shop talk? How do I ask for an actual cup full of coffee without having to explain that?
