    Well Apex and delid tomorrow.
Seems the nice fellow selling the Apex board on Gumtree also has a delid tool, so he's offered to bring the board down and delid at the same time

In the end it works out to be $480 for a new Apex and delid, can't go wrong there..

    The spare board.

It was $430 for the board, $30 for the delid but because he has to drive down from Brissy had to chip in $20 fuel.
Still cheaper than a new board with shipping..

I'll soon find out if I have a dud 8700k or not..

Only one word for it. WoW ... wait till you see all the bios features in that Apex. You can want for nothing.

Jealous. Saw the apex dropped to 489 at umart, but with Xmas I just don't think I should cut myself too short.....

    Patience... :upset:

Plus Pccasegear won't have any conductonaut till the 29th and still waiting on the aquacomputer delid tool anyway.

Think I'm Gunna cry if I don't get this thing running soon!

free market slave drivers. just despicable.

I'm building new system for a friend, which CPU would you choose out of these two?
    i7 7700(4 cores, 8 threads, 3.6GHz/4.2GHz base/turbo, 8MB cache) or i5 8400(6 cores, 6 threads, 2.8GHz/4.0GHz base/turbo, 9MB cache)
Gonna use Asus B250I for i7 7700 and ASRock Z370 ITX for i5 8400.. total price will be similar because i7 7700 will be second hand.

Probably internet browsing, MS Office and maybe bit of mild gaming.

Just go with a 8700K build. 7700K is somewhat obsolete now when you look at the bigger picture.

8400 or 7700 ...tough choice. i'd have either. but prefer 8400. much of a muchness....but six cores might be handy for some things. 7700 slightly faster some things higher clock.

or 8700...can't lose with that one.

Supersize. My first Apex was a dud. Bought another interim as I was sick of no board.
PC shop sent another new one. Be here any day I expect. Not that I can sell it here.
But the one I'm currently using will be 10 days old soon haha

Haha yep whip em good. No bananas for you.

Gotta love some good ac. Remember years ago benching my 7970 @ ~1400 MHz on a 40+ day with the aircon cranked to make ambient temps ~15' and card running around 30' fully loaded.

Was good fun. Almost passed out when I went outside for a smoke though! :D

I would if ever I stop spending on computer parts

Edit. Now I'm working on a few ideas here. Same as a computer case.
The Hobby Shack is the computer case. I was told that fans work better in pull configuration.

So that aids cleaning as not as much build up on the radiators. True it worked on x2.
Add desert climate ... bugs here man they are biting bastards. Get after me at night.
If those little pricks get through the fly screen to get at me .. then there are x3 big
chopper there to suck them right in. I'll put a chaff bag meters away & collect their bodies. :leet:

There's bigger plans on this idea. But imagine this ... summer will not last forever
I'll have the biggest motherfucker enthusiast cooling pushing towards wintertime :Pirate:
