Not sure what was going on with the 8/4/19 release, was corrupted for me, but now there is an updated one that reads from the 11/4/19 and unpacks fine.

    Will update tomorrow.

Remaining lineup specs confirmed. Wonder what the Australian pricing is. Can I actually get an intel 8-core that won't cost me a kidney I wonder. If only dat $323 USD is a straight currency conversion, nope I'm guessing it will be 550+...

Before I get jumped on for not considering AMD, don't want to deal with any issues with virtualisation or nested virtualisation, I barely encode and don't stream, render or compile.

For once this update actually says "improve system performance". Doubt it's anything real world noticeable but finally we get performance improvements rather than compatibility and/or bug fixes. Didn't get a chance to put it on last night, but will tonight.

hmmmm, new update date for the ROG Maximus X Hero firmware but no change in the revision number?? Looks like they've just added some updates and shoved them into the last release.

Hey boys, Im looking for parts for an upgrade for one of the kids computers and its been a while since I tinkered with a non-K cpu, what can I clock an 8700 non-K to? I figure that if the price is right and I can delid and get 4600 stable on all cores then the few hundred mhz wont matter alot (in gaming).

    What do you guys reckon?

    :)

9600k is cheaper and the smaller cache will make approximately a bees dick difference in gaming.

Though it doesn't have HT which could make a difference.

It may be placebo but I have tested HT and non Ht cpus myself and felt that the non HT was noticably slower. Thats just my opinion, so I would prefer to have HT.

Just about any 8700K 8086K on 5Ghz would be ideal
