Thetron: I stated for people willing to submit designs directly to Suntzu. Suntzu has agreed to this process as it simplifies the process for him.

If you can't abide by it, well, you're not doing anyone any favours. If you absolutely HAVE to post a design, make it a small, quick-loading design as a lot of people are on modem, and don't want to wait for a bloated image or 15 to download.

Personally, I think it's foolish to share your designs with other people, especially if you're trying to make a career out of it. But hey, it's your life.

As a note to everyone else: the political side to this thread has been stated, and overstated. If it can't return to topic in short order, offending posts will be deleted. You have been warned.

    As I understand it:

Since hes not using the logo for commercial purposes he can play with it all he likes.

IF HE WINS and the image is used on my commercial site, I will get permission of the Manufacturer to use the image then.

Its only until he wins that it might be used for commercial purposes, so having a go with the image is not contravening anything.

Theres a lot of "PANIC MERCHANTS" getting around on these forums lately methinks.

    cheers

/me points to multimedia mechanic module

Dr evil: I did spend freaking 20hr in a computer lab for nothing

in other word i know my compression
Why people really post it is to get other peoples feedback

See in this business it's important to get feedback from both colleagues and friends so you can work on a way of improving

I'm so, SO tempted to shoot large, smoking holes in this, but I won't, because me typing a massive rant about how certain people are utter twonks who surprise me on a daily basis by continuing to post in these forums rather than by smothering themselves with their own pillow at night, or choking to death while tying a shoelace or dying some ridiculous way due to their own idiocy, will take away from this thread of Suntzu's, and the design competition.

*sighs* I don't give a shit if you mail them or not. Do what you want, but if you wanted to like, win, then don't let other people see them and steal your hard work.

Why must I spell these things out?

    whoa, cicada ...

well the way i see it is, there's nothing wrong with someone doing a competition like this ...

there are ways to protect your work and this kinda thing usually appeals to people who dont do this full-time anyway and see this as an opportunity to get some exposure.

    <rant>
Sciby, no offense, but just shut up

you have made your point enough times by now so unless you are gonna submit a logo, just butt-out

None of us have broken any rules here so just leave us alone. I know what i am doing ok??

and i dont care what you think regarding my perfectly *legal* practices in this forum.

I havent broken any rules - you have made your point

    go away
    </rant>

it's not that i dont agree w/ you - its just you keep stating it over and over everyone chooses to post images here, not because we are niaive or oblivious to the ways of the world
I also hope there are a few decent ppl that arent just using this thread to leech.

good point, but enough is enough

Speedfreaks a bit ahead followed up closely by

Damian, Stuart and Nathan. (im lost on handles, but you know who u are)

I real impressed with the stuff sent in.

How about a logo for a business card, most of this stuff so fars great for the website but I cant put it on a 2 colour business card. A simple logo will do, doesnt even need to have text, just representative images.

Good efforts though. (not that Im worthy to jugde :)

    cheers

I never said anything about you doing anything illegal. I was trying to help you and others who were submitting designs. You felt the need to post what could be considered a sarcastic comment in
I took that as a mild slap in the face after offering a suggestion to protect you. After talking with Suntzu, the suggestion became the preferred approach for the comp. Still people ignored it. I had to repeat it for certain people. I'm not "butting in" because people have broken rules. I'm butting in to help Suntzu run it as smoothly as possible.

And just because no one has broken a rule doesn't mean I can't participate in a thread. I'm a member of the forums as well as an admin, you know.

I'll stay out of the thread if you so wish. Deal with your own problems from now on if you don't like my help.
