Hi, I was wondering how i would go about connecting an Xbox 360 to a Dell 24" monitor, the problem is the only input for the monitor is DVI-d.

I've been reading around and apparently it can be done with an adapter. Someone said that this was $250 :Paranoid:

I had an adapter lying around somewhere, and after of hours of searching finally found one, but it hardly looks like it's worth $250. So im wondering if it will still work. It looks like this:

That looks like the opposite of what you need. You want to go from a VGA cable to a DVI monitor, that goes from a DVI cable to a VGA monitor...

If you have a HDMI 360, you could run the hdmi and end it with a hdmi > dvi connector.

That's why the official MS HDMI cable comes with an extra cable to use for traditional RCA or Optical hookups :)

    See Play-Asia for details

Thats what I was going to say?????

The Dell 24" has analog, digital, component, composite ..take your pick.

You were never going to get sound into this monitor. I'm told 360 has VGA analog so it should be doable.

The Xbox 360 Elite only supports HDMI 1.0 which only supports the video signal. HDMI 1.1 support is needed for both video and audio.

umm unless your talking about a speaker headset for games then no.
