i was going to get 2 E6600's from OCUK but i wanted to ask Gibbo some questions in the forum first before i bought. Its been 5 days now and still waiting for account activation. So they lost me as a customer as i bought an X6800 from pluscorp on tuesday. I have no problems with buying from overseas. I would of bought a couple of 6600 on the 27th july from overseas but 1 of the sponsors here said that any one that bought overseas would be getting their cpu's after the aussie one's arrived which was a lie.

Some ebay sellers are importing them in small batches from overseas if you dont mind paying a bit extra.

Maybe you could get in touch with one of them / do a search.

Ditto. I'm getting a 6400 today which i'll flog when my 6600 finally arrives.

A 2 week wait is ridiculous (and there is no guarantee it will arrive then either).

Im just going to wait til they're readly available and the pick of MOBO's is greater.

By that time hopefully the G80 GPU from Nvidia is released and then I'll be set for 5 minutes til the next latest and greatest is released.

You have got to expect delays when a new product is just launched. When they are released lots of people will be wanting them so the makers are working flat chat too ship as many as quickly as they can because of not having any in stock. This happens to anything just released be it video cards or whatever

I called CPL on Wednesday 9/8/06 before their new Green guide advert was out on the Thursday and a guy there said they were only selling them with systems. I said how much of a system, because I also needed to get a socket 478 Motherboard and a copy of windows. He said that would do and that I could pick it up on Friday. I didn’t really believe him but put $20 deposit on it.

Friday afternoon I get a phone call, your order is ready!!!! And when I got to the shop they did still have it.

I then rushed home and put my machine together, turned it on and the power supply exploded. Ok not really exploded but there was a large bang and flash of blue light (guess a capacitor couldn’t take it). The power supply was a brand new Antec smart power 2.0 500w. I took it back the next day and MSY swapped it for another new one. Which works perfectly.

The E6600 is definitely worth the wait. When I canceled my order with Computer World they said they would have had them in this week, so good luck everyone else who is still waiting.

I also just recently ordered an E6600 from an ebay store for $545 as I got sick of waiting for my pre-order which has been almost a month now.
Should arrive here this Wednesday, did you pay the same sort of money?

I just thought I would let everyone know that there should be new batches of the e6600 and higher coming into stores this afternoon/tomorrow morning so some preorders will be shipped any maybe some spare - still limited stock though so don't excpect volume for another week or two at least.
