Sounds interesting. Would there be a special ceremony/inspection kind of thing for the public? i.e: if I rocked up with my camera at the airport would they get shitty?

I doubt they'd get annoyed at you taking photographs, given that it's a publicity tour

Will be interesting to see if they're doing tours though

Yep :) It's coming to brisbane. Twice.

AFAIK, Coming from Europe -> bris -> sydney -> melb -> back to bris -> out to euro again the next day.

To clarify, I knew the date, but I didn't know times.

Hmm. I doubt it'll ever land on Adelaide's Dirt Strip, er I mean... Airport.

If anyone is going to take pics make sure you wear your "I'm not a Terrorist" shirt! :D

Looking forward to seeing some shots.

This was a release from Melbourne Airport earlier this morning.

    Latest Passenger Information
    7 November 2005
Melbourne to get its first glimpse of A380

Melbourne will get its first glimpse of the new Airbus A380 aircraft on Monday 14 November, when the double-decker jumbo flies to Australia for testing and to take part in Qantas’ 85th anniversary celebration.

The airport will be a hive of activity whilst the A380 is visiting, given the enormous amount of public interest in the aircraft to date.

Specific flight arrival times are expected to be confirmed by the middle the week before the aircraft's arrival and will be posted on this website as soon as they are available. Information about arrangements for public viewing of the aircraft will also be confirmed at this time.

The A380 is still not expected to enter commercial passenger service globally until mid 2006, so for Melburnians to be able to see the aircraft in action this early in its development is fantastic.

Melbourne Airport congratulates Qantas on their success in bringing this amazing new aircraft to Australia. We are ready and waiting to welcome it to Victoria.

Can't wait for it to get here :D :D :D

i heard a rumour its going to be parked over by Qantas hanger 3 which means bugger all accesability.

if you want to photograph the arrival forget it if its evening past 6pm you wont be allowed to take photos near the gates.

the spotters area is in Acacia St at the airport near General Aviation. You will have to fight the masses for a departure shot (assuming RW01 on departure) and it will be busy++

if its timed for a 10am arrival to sydney expect departure 8-830ish.

but spotters area opens at 6am every day.

i doubt pulic inspection the aircraft has NO fit out only test equipment. and the aircraft is coming from singapore not europe before it hits bne.

Sounds like a sensational excuse to be down at YMML for the craft's trip. Might see if I can get a group together.

I'm certain that the Sydney Airport spotters have already got some plans. Their messge board is at http://www.vpmag.com/yssy/

Might see if I can borrow that 100-400L.

I found a news article here about it's arrival in Brisbane. But no info on times.

Interesting little note on another possible photo opportunity:
