Geocities was the beginning of the end.

    Look in your history.
    now look at me.
    Now back to your history.

In the good old days, your history contained users.isp.com.au/~somedudesusername, where he would post his diatribe about how aliens were controlling our minds through signals embedded in TV broadcasts, space on permanently connected to the internet was a valid commodity. most ISP's provided 5mb of "Personal webspace".

Now, probably 90% of your web traffic is served from Google, Wikipedia, Facebook and Reddit... with maybe a few forums like OCAU, and Stack Overflow

I miss the "Internet", but I don't hate whats relaced it.

Some context I work at a school, new building getting built and is nearly done.

So FUCKHEAD handy man let the electrician into the server room to run new fiber.

Guess who turned power off to the building? Guess who is calling me saying WiFi isn't working? Guess who didn't check anything with IT?

    absolute mouth breather

Why did they cut power to run fibre?

I look forward to videos of regular people in airports in Juggalo makeup getting dragged off to "private TSA rooms" en masse.

FUCK numpties that don't want to pay Elastic Co for hosting, then hose their install because they have NFI on JVM tunning. Even funnier when they get mad at me for telling em to use ElasticSearch, but choose to self host even when I point out the risks in allowing a "next next windows admin" to be responsible for 2 Linux instances on their VMware... What could possibly go wrong!

    Code:
    146 packages can be updated.
    81 updates are security updates.

You say that like Juggalo's don't already get targeted.

Soon my beard will shift from "Terrorist" to "Amish" and I'll stop getting 'Randomly' selected at airports.
