Twitter. The voice of the people.
Re DST: Just let me fucking sleep and shove your sunlight up your arse.
Echo chambered extremists.
One person's echo chamber is another person's definitive proof that "everyone" agrees and action needs to be taken. #politics
The actual public vote is not representative of the actual population due to "Quota" system, and the size of the electorates and the populations that they represent, the representatives themselves must hold a 51% majority but that doesn't necessarily represent 51% of the population, not does it represent 51% primary vote due to the Westminster voting system that we use.
Is it beer o'clock yet ?
You're all bickering like it's Monday.
Sounds like someone needs to break something so you all have some work to do.
Mate, the DST boys get to beer o'clock 1 hr earlier then us!
Yes, yes, we all know how it works. The "51%" comment is a simplistic and representative statement to not have to delve into the stupidity that is vote counting.
The point stands - any valid interest is typically ignored if the numbers don't meet what is an arbitrary standard, even if there are literally a million people in the country who care about it, but happen to be physically located in particular patterns. That's democracy, apparently.
Insert "it sucks, but it's the best we've got" comments here. #Friday
And for today's 'well duh' statement: We've reached a point where intelligent discourse on any given topic in the public sphere is no longer possible. Companies are so desperate to drive engagement they design their platforms to surface only the extreme viewpoints. In that way, the platforms both give voice to the people and ensure that no representative opinion is ever heard. Should be interesting seeing how long society holds up under these conditions.
"I know FriendFace is bad I just use it to keep in touch with my friends and family" statements shit me.
Said it before and will say it again, we nerds invented the interwebs for good, like sharing porn, media and playing games, then the general public ruined it.
Conflict typically causes a user to engage
I'm working from home today, so joke's on them - I still beat them while the cows are at the fence waiting to be milked because they don't wear watches.
Yeah but do cows have curtains?
No, but they fade anyway.
general opinion of society.
should we get to the point where the Perpetually Offended By Everything club becomes normal as opposed the current vocal but fringe lunacy, stop the world and I will get off.
Yes. "Beef Curtains"
We all love a majority opinion, as long as we agree with it.
Welcome to getting old, and the generation gap. Look at your grandparents. One day soon, that's going to be us.
Shit post friday, this turned up in a meme battle this morning (yes we are all old).
One day soon? Nice try grandpa, that already is you
And its sister organisation, the Perpetually Offended By Change club.
