Hope is never a lie.
How can hope be a lie?
You're a lie.
hope springs eternal
does it count if I hope for disappointment?
well at least you're a winner either way with that strategy.
Nah that's easy. Gartner says XYZ-as-a-service is what's hot, so make it so.
So did everyone die or something, or has nobody had anything to rant about for 3 whole business days
Fucking "architects" who copy brochureware, call it an architecture document and the coterie of grinning morons who are all together in their fucking circle of stupidity. Can't stand people nicking a (very generous) living.
Fucking vendors who when presented with an issue in their product which you currently own respond with "that issue doesn't exist in our brand new shiny cloud version, maybe you should just buy that?"
On premise is so 2010. Are you stuck in the past? Why don't you just be more agile
I was in Bangkok drinking Signha, eating my bodyweight in chillies, and finding obscure retro gaming stores.
Been busy with catching up with work after being in Japan last week. Great food, awesome place and hopefully work send me back
P.s I still have no idea what was going on in that pachinko game place
Tough life I still need to visit there at some stage. Beer and gaming are highly relevant to my interests
we're stuck waiting for all the ducks to line up.
time to mine the data for "fucks".
PS - Just in case you where thinking "man if only I could write web apps in FORTRAN", well wish no more. https://fortran.io/
Such a great place to visit I have been there I forget how many times and would go back again and again.
pachinko is totally not slot machines because that would be illegal.
Finally I can take my skills off of the mainframe.
I walked in with 10 000 yen thinking i'll give it a crack and see what it is. I had NO idea where to begin, couldnt even figure out where to convert to the balls so hung back and watched. After 15 minutes I realised I had no idea what they were doing on the machines and it was just lights, noise and movement on screen
Aren't they all just fronts for Yakuza money laundering?
I'd happily live in Japan if only for the vending machines with mind alteringly good iced coffee. The fact that amazing food is available everywhere for peanuts as well is just a bonus.
The only pachinko parlour I walked into was so thick with smoke my lungs tried to crawl out of my chest and escape, so I didn't last more than 10s.
Microsoft are 'helpfully' changing o365 users default search engine to Bing, because you know, it's better..
Yup, made a separate thread in the BEC forum for visibility. Dumb idea that also has hooks into Windows Search allowing users to see results from web AND company shares.
