If anything... I suspect the group might implode... they're having a little too much fun judging by those photos, and that's where they'll get sloppy.

except outside a few people seen as suspicious/untrusting privacy nerds no one cares, or will even know about it. evidenced by their market cap/share price essentially being unchanged by this.

Wait for what? the share price to rebound further.
    The market spoke.

No. We as in "we people having this discussion" who have already noted the stock price rebounded when they said they are paying.

Genuinely, if anything said "/thread" to me, it's that image right there.

The single most valid reason why this industry is forever and always doomed.

We've discussed the GDPR and the effect it would have on companies, and the fines that would be issued...

The only thing I've seen, is fucking annoying cookie notices everywhere.

On behalf of all the EU people, who have Garmin devices, and information stored with Garmin, where the fuck are the fines?

I would assume due process has to occur pre-fines, to ensure that data was actually lost, and that the fines are relevant. I would assume that will happen in weeks/months from now.

The cynic in me assumes that they'll claim the encrypted data ensure that no data was lost, and thus they won't be fined.

So someone needs to pastebin the data before fines can happen?

Thank god this GDPR will make us take infosec seriously.

So medium sized players do. But the giants like Amazon/Apple/Adobe don't. Sounds just like GDPR.

I think far better use of that money would be training GPT-3 on how to replace all humans in the workplace.

The world *really* doesn't need more cranky pricks like me.
