IMHO passwordless is the future, especially in healthcare situations like you just described. Passwords are archaic and cumbersome; with things like this bad boy I can see MFA using biometric + OTP apps/NFC becoming the standard:

Until you try and put that in, and the privacy/conspiracy nuts lose their minds.

You can satisfy some of the people some of the time...

I don't mind them so much. It's the ones who do it and tell everyone about it at every meeting that get to me.

Just remind them that malicious misuse of company property is a sackable offense and can also lead to criminal charges as per their employment conditions.

My company has been warned that my cats like to sit on my work laptop. So when they said we have to use the camera, I gave them fair warning that they'll be getting an eye full of cat asshole on a regular basis.

    Guess what?

    Camera no longer required.

Yeah, this pisses me off. It's just common courtesy to mute unless you need to talk. That being said, I fucked up the other week and had my mike enabled; it happens. Hilarious when it's in from of C level executives.

That's a great tactic for dodging video calls, I applaud you

Did you do certificate based auth for the VPN? or did you let Karen us the same reused password to sign into the VPN?
Were doorknocks just scans to see if 3380 was open? or were they trying user/password lists?
How many doorknocks do you get on the VPN endpoint?

People that let cats sit on their work laptop are just a rung below people who smoke in their house/at their work laptop.

Or do they allow unlimited clear text user/password attempts and wonder why they get brute forced.

Fair cop. I do always put something over the keyboard to stop the power button getting hit or whatever, but I bet it does not catch it all. But then again, I do prioritise my happiness over the 4 year old laptop I have from work.
