Holiday? I think I had those in school. Since I don't have kids, I am really only vaguely aware of stuff like that.

I've been a bit behind in my posting, I'm sorry. I'll catch up on MS Exchange/Excel shitposts shortly, I promise.

So last week I had a planning session.
To plan a planning session today.
Which is to plan two planning sessions next week.
Those planning sessions however, are actually to plan work.

So we're starting our feature update rollout "project". Except it's not a project. It's a new initiative to operationalise feature updates. So the very definition of project. No, it's to operationalise...

Anywho that's not even the biggest issue. Back when it was a project we submitted estimates for costs. They said woah that's crazy, less than half that. Okay, fine we'll make sacrifices. It's now kicking off, late, months after we kept asking for a start date. We've been assigned a PM part-time and no BA. PM basically just repeats back what we said but slightly different, so then we spend a lot of time correcting them, and now they've ask us to do all the BA work. Fucking great. I went to my boss and in diplomatic terms said it's all bullshit and it won't be done well or on time. Whatever - you've (he actually said "we've" but we all know that's bullshit) got to make it happen. Fuck you, you just threw $50k at a VDI pilot. This is the first feature update we're deploying and to 1800 workstations, while migrating our endpoint management software, impacting most of our user base. And you just want to YOLO it.

Is there actually an effective way of dealing with fucking useless managers? Or do I need to look at jumping ship, again? Keep in mind "Canada" aka they can make up any reason to fire me.

Sounds like Canada's employment conditions are like the US, I didn't know that. Shitty.

I don't think I'd quite put it as bad as US conditions. Probably halfway between them and Oz.

Just don't involve them. Involve the people who can actually impact change.
