I know it's not slotcar related by this is my latest project. 1/10 isuzu bellett rc car. It was my first car. Just waiting for my mate to send me some more parts for it and I'm looking for a decent controller and charger as I sold that stuff off when I sold all my rc stuff a few years ago.

Got these two off a mate the other day for 40 bux each and I cleaned them up this morning and put a second magnet in each and put chips in them and they go like champs now. Also put these custom slot it after market tyres on the back of both cars and thats what makes all the difference I think. Gonna have to order more custom tyres and magnets and maybe some more stuff next week from the armchair racer. I did also put new braids on them both. The R8 might be my new fave. Might have to give her a new paint job soon.

I'll allow it, because I too dabble in R/C cars once every 10 years or so.

Problem is I get a bunch of R/C stuff, have fun building it all (or restoring it as seen a while back in the R/C thread) use it for a weekend or 2, then never touch it again. And after 4 years of never touching them, I sell them to get space and or money back.

At least with slot cars I know if I get too busy, or lose interest, or have no one to race with, or can't fit a track... I always come back to them. I am interested in pretty much every aspect of slot cars even if I haven't touched one in a year, I know I'll always come back and enjoy them.

    Your new cars look great.

I went a little silly today at Metro hobbies.
I went in for some Radius 1 inner boarders...
I got the Back to the Future 2 Delorean.
The final pit garage I've wanted but no one's had stock of for like 3 years, and some more boarders. Pics of car soon (or maybe when the 3rd one comes out and I can show the Trilogy off)
It was an expensive day and I'm in the middle of trying to downsize some track.

So... Anyone want to buy some track?

I'll swap you for a bridge track so you can get rid of your one bad looking bit of track for a shiny matching one. (Not really I only have 3 bridge sets and need one more)

The ramp leap sets are pretty much useless for actual racing, but make it a bit more exciting for kids, I need about 8 of them so I can make a lounge room sized Beetle Adventure Racing track.

So i bought a nissan gtr slot.it car the other week. Used that chip to convert it to the scalextric digital format. Was having dramas with it stuttering on the track all the time. Found out i had to solder on a ferrite man onto the motor. Now it goes like a champ. Just need some way to insulate those wires now to stop it arking on the motor can. My mate got a couple of his nsr cars going as well by using the same chip. Now hes trying to talk me into getting an nsr car but i aint at that level yet and my current track is to windey.

So firstly I went to my mates place yesterday to give my gtr a good go and put it up against my mates two nsr cars. Both his cars flogged my new gtr but he has more then 50 meters of track layed out in an 8m x 4m configuration with a huge straight up one side to let it rip. So at least I was able to open up the gtr to see what she is capable of.
This is pics of all our cars currently and I have an escort on the way. The escort I will more then likely be using its chassis to finally make my custom isuzu bellett scalextric car. Will see if it will all work out when it gets here later this week.
Dad and I spent the morning racing and sledging and just having allot of fun. I purposely knocked him off the track several times lols whoops.
We fixed up spots on the track and fixed up a few of the cars. I put them all on the one shelf so we know what we have.
So dad and I went to bunnings the other day and picked up a roll of clear builders plastic which was 5m x 2m and put it over the track once we where done. Was only like 21 bux. I highly recommend to keep your tracks covered as so much dust and dirt will just stick to your tyres but also get inside the car and gunk up ether the motor or gears or wheel bushings.
Think my next car will be an nsr audi r8 or a nsr porsche. But not to sure how hard they are to mod or put a conversion scalextric digital chip in them.
I know my gtr needs at least one more magnet until i get used the power of her on my windey track. So I think ill be putting in another order to arm chair racer sooner then later.
I think im addicted boys, do I need help? ;)

Not quite an addictive level of cars, but getting there. I'm currently biding my time for a few specific cars, but that GTR looks great.

Only things I've done since my last post is got some small (5ml) plastic dropper bottles and put various liquids in them. Spray bottles of Inox, WD 40, and a large bottle of SInger oil are all fine, but as a spray things aren't precise enough. With these cheap little dropper bottles, getting the exact right amount of what you need exactly where you need it is incredibly easy.
And printed out just a shit load of containers on photo paper, now I just need to find time to make them all.

Those things are always the first thing to go missing from any set, I wouldn't worry about finding them too much. You can use practically anything to hold track up.

You can often find Elevated Crossover Bridges with all the supports (C8295) for $10ish but then you'll still have more bridge sections than supports.
Got any bits of dowel lying around?

So I finally gave our air brush a crack the other day. Had no idea what i was doing but i had a go anyways. Think i used way to much thinners. Painted the isuzu bellett shell i plan to mod on an escort scalextric chassis. Painted that R8 as well. They came out not to bad for a first go on the air brush with no idea with what i was doing. I can only get better from now on surely ;)

Finally got my rc isuzu bellett finished. Just got a few finishing touches on it to do.

Been messing around with some Slot.it slot car stuff as well.

    20220515_100455.jpg 20220515_100535.jpg 20220515_101755.jpg 20220515_152324.jpg 20220520_103329.jpg 20220520_103442.jpg 20220520_200244.jpg 20220520_200254.jpg 20220520_200329.jpg 20220522_074806.jpg 20220522_074831.jpg 20220520_200339.jpg

Still working on my custom isuzu bellett scalextric car but it looks like I'll have to put an order in with pendle slot racing to get the wheels i need and a few other things. That audi r18 e-tron 4wd slot.it car i sprayed with enamel paint with the air brush and it was allot harder to work with. Mind you ive only had like 4 goes now at the airbrush. But I'll get better.

I ordered a shapeways r8 3d printed chassis and ill throw some slot.it stuff in there. Haven't decided what yet. We will see when it turns up

Tell me more about that Slot.it R32. I assume it was the kit, and you assembled it yourself.
I've been meaning to get one of the kits and the Bathurst winner for a while now.

I've recently found a mirror, but now can't find the car it came off.

Yeah the slot.it r32 skyline is part CA47z. Has an inline machbui motor which is 21k i think off the top of my head. Yeah it was the kit. I just sprayed it. I glued on as many parts as i could see where they where meant to go as theres no instructions. Its the best of the slot.it cars i own now. If i can just buy the blue and red body for it i will get those. I plan to put a boxer 2 long inline motor in it. I have the inline gear but need another pinion. Might be able to make something work i have here. It will be a rocket after the upgrade. It drives like its on rails atm.

I'll dig up pics of the blue and red one soon.

Also, how is that ozito air compressor?

I've been looking at an airbrush kit for a while now but every time I do I'm reminded I can't spray paint for shit and the cost of other setups at $300+ puts me off for something I am going to suck at, try for 2 months and then never use again and give to someone who can paint.

But at $130 for the ozito it might be worth the risk and if it turns out I enjoy it, Can always upgrade later on.
If you think it's any good I might give it a shot.
I've been slowly rebuilding some completely buggered old SCX light towers, and I'm at the point I want to turn them from bright red to a concrete grey, so they'll be the perfect thing to test. And if I bugger up the painting I've only lost 2 hours and $12.

Finally got the slot.it audi r18 e-tron completed. Paints a bit meh in places and there's smears of super glue here and there but meh. It's something productive to keep me out of trouble. Besides it's only going to get dinged up once I fly off the track anyways.

The ozito air compressor is ok but we don't use the air brush that came with it as it looks fair shit. I might use it if I have to cover a bigger area quickly like an rc body shell. Dad actually bought us a semi decent air brush from mass hobbies in perth for 80 bux. It goes ok but then again I have no idea what I'm doing as ive only used it like 4 times now. But I'm having a crack.

Have you got any ideas to secure a slipping brass pinion on a motor shaft at all besides ether super glue, locktite, hot glue or soldering it on. Was also thinking I could give it a decent wack with a rubber mallet on the side flat down to sort of squish it on but that will most likely throw it out of wack as it spins. I'm stuck with this other project until I ether figure out how to secure this pinion. I could maybe rob one off the old scaley parts car but it will be plastic and I want brass at the very least.
