    Control GPU benchmarks

Looks unreal with ray tracing on, don't think I have ever seen lighting like that in real life.

its pretty poorly optimised for how it looks with RTX off, the motion blur is well done though and makes the low fps feel ok.

So Remedy fans what do we think?

Compare it to Alan Wake and Quantum Break for me.

I do plan on picking this up once it's out of the exclusivity window but curious to know what fans think.

    Story-wise is more Alan wake-like
as both Control and Alan Wake are in the same universe. There's some collectables that refer the Alan wake as another AWE.

Gameplay-wise it's more like Quantum Break.

I honestly enjoyed the game. There will be DLC coming out later to expand the story. The RTX features look very cool too.

is that because of the combat?

If there is DLC coming, even more reason for me to wait.

Yeah, lots of super powers like in QB but with the creepy atmosphere and complex story of Alan wake.

everything i've seen so far doesn't make it look that creepy, Alan Wake was creepy all the time due to the location.

cheers for the info, gonna keep it on the wishlist prolly have RTX by the time I buy it which will be nice.

Like it's more supernatural creepy rather than horror creepy. Still a fun game to play. I still got a whole bunch of collectables yet to find haha

Sounds like a great combination. I loved the creepy atmosphere and story of Alan Wake, and I enjoyed the world building detail and powers in QB. Looks like Control is a competent production from Remedy. I'll pick it up on the cheap during a Steam sale.

I'm only GTXing but its been brilliant so far. Gameplay, eye candy and the Kubrick-ian creepiness atmosphere are all spot on. I wasn't a fan of QB but this is definitely hitting the spot and the more I play the more I'm impressed, you keep getting more powers and guns etc. that change up the style.
It already looks pretty damned good to me, I can't imagine what RTX looks like IRL (have seen the youtubes but that never does it justice).

Between this and Metro Exodus, the thinking man's SP shooter scene is looking in good nick, thank god I won't have to resort to playing e-sports multiplayer titles

So AW, QB, and Control are linked because they all refer to a TV show called night springs... Oh cool.

Cool, can't wait to check this game out.. I'd usually sell bundled games on GPU but I'm def keeping this one. :)

I only played Diablo 3(and ~10 hours of NSF Payback) in past ~1.5 years so really looking forward to this.

Thats a big hit to FPS, i was reading some of the comments in that video and it looks like many are taking big hits, i like how much it looks better but i really think Raytracing is a long way off being mainstream.

RTX was pretty useless when it was first introduced year ago, but things are different now I think.

apparently chucking textures down to medium helps with the stutter. gonna give it a try.

edit: there's an easter egg with kojima in it...gotta find it now haha.

Welp, no dice. seems to be PS4 only...fuck!

It's still useless unless you have 2080Ti as performance hit is too high and too few games available to take advantage of it.
It's definitely a step in the right direction but I doubt anyone is going to take eye candy raytracing provides over frame rates/playability.
