Control (2019) - Remedy Games

lol I started new game again so I can get ALL collectibles.
I think you can have up to collectibles(18, 7, 23, 7, 6) by the time you finish the first mission(Unknown Caller, which is technically the second mission).
So that's all the collectibles you can get from the executive sector(not including two areas infested by molds which you can't access yet without dying, and other areas which you can access yet) afaik.

p.s. out of those collectibles, you can only get some of them from the very first quest(Welcome to the Oldest House). One called "Visitor Evaluations" under Correspondence is bit tricky to get.

 

Game is on sale till November 1st during the EGS Halloween Sale. now $44.99 USD.

 

Def worth buying(especially if you own RTX graphics card imho).
I really hope they'll release DLC in near future.. I'll be the first one to buy it.

Love this game.. still fun playing after finishing it 3 times.
I've discovered that it's possible to get all the best(Level 5) weapon/personal mods easily just after finishing the second main mission(Directorial Override), so I've started new game and making a "Super Jessy" this time.

p.s. anyone know where the saved game files are located? (cos I wanna make a backup, and also upload it so others can use my saved games)

 

IIRC it should have cloud saves.

 

But you still have saved game files in hard drive tho..

Because if you restart the PC without exiting the game properly then start the game, you'll get two options: "Local File: Upload to Cloud" or "Cloud Storage: Download to Machine" before you can start again.
This is actually useful, e.g. say if you crafted 10x Level 5 mods and you didn't like what you got, then alt-tab and restart the PC. then select "Cloud Storage: Download to Machine" option when you run the game again. that way you'll be able to re-craft 10x Level 5 mods again.

You used a hex editor to get those mods?

Why even bother, the game is straight forward and has no difficulty scaling so cheating isn't required.

 

lol nah, I've discovered some glitches after playing the game soo much. so it should also work on PlayStation 4 and XBox One etc.

 

Think I finally finished the game 120%.. man I love this game.. lol

 

You sure remedy and M$ not sponsoring your love gush for control,azzan? Will probably give it a go once it's around $30 aud or so. Also don't have a rtx2000 card so no extra incentive to get it for the day tracing eye candy.

 

lol I wish.. I just hope they'll make DLC soon cos imho it's one of the best game ever(IGN's Game of the Year 2019).. super fun & looks unreal. (it looks freaking awesome even without the ray tracing imo)

I've been too busy with CoD MP(level 112 in S1) but I've been meaning to go for world record Control speed run(only cos no one else really tried it.. lol).
I'll try to upload speed run video on YouTube next couple of days(hopefully), and I'll also upload another cool Control video(21 hidden locations + secret weapon mod) soon.

p.s. looks like there's new patch(~4-5GB) for Control, hopefully better optimization for more fps.

 

wasn't there supposed to be an expansion pass for new DLC? I want that but will try the expeditions.

Game seems to run much faster with the latest patch. I started new game and played for ~hour and I got average 100 fps on executive sector then average fps dropped to 95 on maintenance sector. (GPU was overclocked to +100, +1000)
I remember getting ~80 average fps before patch iirc, but I'm not 100% cos that was just my rough estimate by looking the fps randomly. (I only learned to check the accurate average fps using Afterburner/Rivatuner recently)

Cool thanks, that might be useful for checking the minimum fps in games.. cos for some reason I can't seem to get Afterburner to run using shortcut key.

FYI, anyone can play the new Expeditions if you already finished the game, or at least completed 6th main mission(My Brother's Keeper).
- Get Jukebox token from Central Executive, talk to Arish and use token on Jukebox to start the first(side) mission.
- You'll teleport to new uncharted area(looks pretty cool), and have to fight bunch of level 6-8 mobs(not hard).
- Once you complete that then you'll get access to Tier 1 Expedition, but you need to farm more token(from named mobs) or craft them through astral constructs(easy if you have plenty of gold).

I barely made Tier 1 & 2 in time on first try, but I have maxed out level 5 weapon/personal mods so it might be tricky if you have crap gear.
Had to try Tier 3 twice(bit harder cos you get some level 10 mobs), but it's not that hard once you get used to the map/mobs imo.

Hey Azzan, what are your recommendations for leveling up and guns for a first time player?

 

i should check if they fixed the gun levelling for one of the guns.

 

Personally I like Grip and Pierce but it comes down to your personal preference, but use +damage, +rate of fire, +recharge weapon mods if possible for more damage.

? far as I know gun levels were never bugged? It's easy to unlock all weapons to level 2 very early in the game(start of 3rd main mission) if you farm the mats at right place.
But it's much harder to unlock level 3 weapons cos you need the rarest mat(untapped potential) and you can only get from completing the game or doing boss fights. so you pretty much need min level 5 access card to get one.
