    Hi,

I need to convert a 2.4V source from 2x1.2V batteries to a regulated 1.2V output to drive a glowplug on my dads model RC plane.

Ive been looking around, and can't find any circuits that would do this with a small input voltage.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

    Regards

Center tapping the batteries would be the simplest option, IMHO.

A glow plug isn't going to need a precision IC regulator.

The NCP600 will work with Vin >= 1.75V and is adjustable for Vout >= 1.25V. The drop out voltage is a measly 150mV, but it can only handle 150mA of current.

If you set it up with a pass transistor you can get more current out of it. How much would the glow plug need anyway?

EDIT: I agree with Goth's thoughts on the solution though.
