It has been mentioned a few times by peeps in the Core i7 related threads so instead of posting amidst the pages and pages of chit chat, I figured a new thread was appropriate.

I've been chatting to some of the heatsink manufacturers lately and here's a list of confirmations I've got for LGA1366 support:

    Thermalright - all Ultra series, HR-01 Plus, HR-01 4U, HR-01 3U and Ultima 90.
Noctua - All coolers. Free upgrades to LGA1366 brackets for current Noctua heatsink owners.
Scythe - All coolers. Brackets will be sold separately and parts supporting LGA1366 will be given a 'Rev. B' addition to the name. The new Mugen 2 will suport LGA1366 from the get go
Thermaltake - V1 and Big Typhoon VX will be updated with LGA1366 support. All Thermaltake water cooling ('LCS') will be updated for LGA1366 support. No confirmation of being able to buy the brackets separately but the new brackets have been given individual part numbers (A100069 for V1 and A100070 for Big Typhoon VX) so I would presume they will be made available separately.
Coolermaster - The V8 will have LGA1366 compatibility (should be in Aus @ Rectron in the next container due in about four weeks) and the Aquagate Max is being updated for LGA1366 with a likely revamp of the water block used - details were sketchy but it was mentioned it needs the block needs to be redesigned.
    ASUS - Triton 81 cooler.
    Nexus - FLC-3000 cooler.

If you hear of any more, drop a line in this thread

The Ultra 120 Extreme for sure is compatible with an adjusted bracket as I have used this HSF for my review.

I've got the same one chainy but there are two questions to be answered:
    • Is the bracket going to be available in the channel for end users currently with LGA775 based systems to purchase when they do an upgrade to LGA1366?
    • Will any other heatsinks in Thermalright's range be compatible with LGA1366?

Those are the areas that I'm waiting for further confirmation on :)

    +1 mate.

In all the time I've known of Noctua and been in contact with them directly (dating back to about 2-2.5hrs ago and before I was in a journo position), they always looked out for their customers and did their best to provide a product that wouldn't only offer instant purchase gratification but future delayed gratification as the part continues to do it's job well. The company providing free upgrade kits just sums this up even further.

It's a very smart move by Noctua.

    Cheers mate - updated OP.

    Thanks also for this update.

I've added the Nexus to the list but could you please confirm the company that manufactures the Red Sea? Is it correct, according to the link given, that the company is called 'Overclocking 3 PC Cooler'?

It just sounds, ermmm, odd. So I thought I'd double check.

    Cheers peeps.

I think it's mainly based for the Asian market, prob why it seems odd. I doubt anyone would be able to get one here unless they import it.
