Cosmos Ultra Tower clear side panel (first attempt)

Hi Guys

So as some of you may know I have a Cosmos II Ultra Tower, but I was unhappy that the fact there is no window in the side panel to show off my fancy bits

So, after inquiring about some custom pre-made side panels which cost nearly the same as the case itself, I decided to do my own.

I've only put up final pics but I do have some other random shots throughout the mod. Time to complete this mod took 1 day.

I even did a slight bend to follow the case edge. I'm just not sure whether to put fan holes or slits in it for the fans. But I'm scared ill break it or stuff it up, lol

Cost of this mod was roughly $50 for the bit of plexi and $15 for a plastic blade for my circular saw. I only used 5mm plexi which seems to be fine and is super strong.

 

That looks brilliant. Unless there is a noticeable increase in temps forget the vents.

Looks good - I just don't get the drain valve at the bottom of the GFX card - it looks a bit out of place - also the use of different tubing?

Yea drain port is more for convenience and don't waste a port somewhere else,

There is 1 type of flexi tubing and the other is hard acrylic tube

out of curiosity, how did you bend the plexi so accurately? Do you have a plastic heater thingo?

 

With some clamps and timber you can minimize the bend distance. He would have had to measure the radius of the case bend and try to match it with the gap between the boards etc.

Unless he has some magic trick, probably something like above.

 

Proper way is to leave the protective wrap on then throw it on the strip heater then quickly over to the panbrake to perform the bend. More than likely though by a couple of telltale signs is he used a heat gun and just bent it over in a b&w portable vise benchtop or similar. Looks great though!

Really do like this case but not having a window side panel has always put me off.

 

Looks Great! A case window was what i felt was lacking in this case, and a full clear panel looks stunning!
