I expect something similar to the ampere series, they will have to have their best cards at launch to compete with RDNA3 and if a ti comes later it'll be meh 10% more kind adeal. They don't have the luxury of the 1080ti where AMD had nothing to compete so they milked the launch with only having the 1080 then $$ titan a couple of months later and then close to a year later when sales were slowing did they put out the value for money 1080ti option.

Honestly, I would take a 2080 Ti right now if I could get one.

You can't act desperate for a gpu anymore when 3060ti are nearly 2080ti perf for $700ish haha. They're decent value especially if you play DLSS games

That's a fair point. The 3060 Ti is weaker for gaming at 1440p (which is my resolution) but they are nearly half the price of a 2080 Ti, so...

Well I used it at 1440p heaps and had zero issues tbh...on all games including Cyberpunk sometimes can't Max every setting but who cares

So you guys reckon I should snag a 3070Ti now or will prices drop more here in Aus?

Is it worth running RTX on a 3060 Ti, or are they not quite up to the task?

Not even 3090s are. Unless you're happy with aggressive DLSS and not high fps.

I have a 3080ti and can't even get 120/4k at epic settings in FN with raytracing off, so no chance I turn it on

If u desperately need it to save your soul from being crushed by a goblin, get one. For all other reasons, I would wait.

But in all seriousness- if you value these cards above their MSRP then who's to tell you otherwise. Your use case is yours only. Aside from the 3090Ti, the 70Ti is the 2nd most hated card of the series so u may just find a ripping deal.

I would say it's actually been the better buy for a while now, why would 3070Ti be the second most hated card? 3090 way worse value than 3070Ti. As is 3080Ti tbh.

There was just no real place for the 3070Ti. Performance gap of 3070Ti vs a well clocked 3070 was minimal. Just wasn't worth the $/fps improvements, and the 3080 (at MSRP) was still better value. Core count of 3070Ti still left a massive gap to 3080.

Obviously at stupid prices everything changed but nothing is good at stupid prices (not even a 3070Ti).

Agree 3090 was not great value but hero cards never are. I will cut it a tidbit of slack (not much) as a chunk of that cost factors in that additional 12Gb ram. 24gb is just absurd (and more of what we need on the next xx80 series!)

    All of this.

3070 and 3080 were the real stars of this gen, hands down. 3090 was silly for the price, but still undeniably a powerhouse card that was readily available at launch, so it had its deserved time in the sun.

All the Ti cards this gen have suffered from poor launch timing, poor pricing or just being LHR. A real shame.

so this has nothing really to do with the thread. I don't really want to make one for a mundane question. old PC has onboard graphics, no HDMI or any output on the MOBO. what is the cheapest option to go for just getting a monitor going

Do a wtb for one that meets your resolution and output requirements and someone will get one for you

If you don't care about warranty I'd still say just make a wtb. Lots of generous people on here. New will be triple the price for the low low end compared to what someone may have lying around.
