On Ebay 5700XT's are going for more than $1000.

    Mind melting.

I am going to sell my RX480 and RX570. The RX480 should sell well because it is an 8GB card. It can play MW. The 570 is a 4GB card - that will go for peanuts. (Still a decent gaming card for 1080p titles more than two years old.)

according to that LTT's video it sounds like nothing will get back to normal until mid-late 2022 and i'd risk a guess and say shit will still be fucked next year so probably won't return back to true normal until 23-24.

Fuck paying around a grand for a god damn entry level card ffs.

The RX 570 8GB I have costed me 270 dollars and apparently 570 is mid level. These days your standard mid-level card is around 1100-1600 dollars and i'm not even gonna touch on the upper level lol.

If you want even entry level it seems to be from 600 to 1100 dollars lmao. fuck paying that much for entry level, entry level cards should only be in the 300-600 MAX range.

In the next build i was prepared to pay 100-1100 max for a card and last i looked that would have gotten me into the mid end but not these days.

This year and even next year is not the year for building new pcs thanks to silicone shortages and all these miners with 300 ASICS or 5-10 separate mining rigs with 10-13 GPUS each in it certainly does not help the situation at all.

Is a 3070 not midrange? That is 1000-1200 currently.
I've not seen any entry level cards selling for 1K?

Massive amounts of hyperbole again from Skydome...

I considered a 8GB RX570 Entry level 2 years ago for a mate I did a build for and it cost $219, what universe 2 years later that card could be sold for double?

None of this happened prior to 2013 or someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

These crypto boom cycles are obviously jacking the prices right up

only for an 8gb card though which fills up fast as soon you turn the res up a bit so it's not really worth it at that price. May have been if it was 9-10gb.

Even the 8gb on the 570 fills up fast just trying to play GTA5 on higher settings.

there's some and even the entry level is over priced atm and I clearly said around a grand so please read properly first.

entry level cards, as I stated, should be in the 300-600 range, maybe 700 at the absolute unreasonable top end.

Pricing structure should be 300-700 entry level -1100-1800 max for mid and 1900+ top level.

pricing structure and models currently are a bit janky and confusing. Makes no sense speding 700-1000 on entry level.

I was gonna update my system this year but everything is janked out of proportion so my i7 950 rx570 12gb ddr3 is just gonna have to last another two-three years thanks to the silicone shortage and miners helping to make the situation that little bit more worse for us.

300-700 bucks for an entry level is kinda high. IMO, entry levels should be sub $300.

i guess i was just tryna be nice to the corporations lol.

As a consumer it should definitely be sub 300 but i guess from the view of a corporation 300-700 would be better, as long as they at least put some effort into the software and offer up something nice for the card without been to overly elaborate.

Both AMD/Nvidia haven't released their entry level yet so just wait and see but prices are just bonkers now on any levels.

see my thinking was that AMD/NVIDIA 3060/6700 were entry level.

370/6700xt (?) mid and 3080 were high but idk what that makes 3090 and etc extra high?

I think they both need to clean up their modeling, it's too confusing for me.

I would define a GTX 1050 as any entry level.

3090 is like Titan, extremely desirable but more suited to content creators than normal consumers so I wouldn't really include it in the "low-mid-high" tiers but that is a personal opinion and everyone's budget is different.

I would call the 3060 mid-(as in mid-minus).. the 1020/1030 are entry level while the 1050 would be the low end.

ohhh so it's a content creators card.

Wish they'd called it like 3090CC rarther than just 3090 so it looks like it's apart of the 3060/70/80.

I understand now, so with this iteration its 3060 entry, 3070mid 3080 high end and 3090 content creators card.

aren't these last gen or older cards too?

I'm mainly trying to understand the structure of the 3000 series.

Yes but given the 30 series equilvants have not been released yet, I used them in place.

So 3020/3050/3060/3070/3080 will be the line up eventually.

To note generally the "xx20/xx30" cards are previous generation(as in the die) not current, but its anyone's guess until they are released.

you'd think they'd have the 3000 series fully sorted from bottom to top before release though haha.

doesn't really change much, i'll still be waiting till next year earliest before buying as it's just too pricey atm.

This is the way they have done it for as long as I can remember.. Start at the top and work there way down.. Its the best way from a revenue point of view as it pushes people to upgrade to a higher tier if desperate.

It's a lot more cost effective for them releasing top to bottom hence why you see them releasing their work station GPU first than gaming card aka everything is just a cut down version of their top A100 GPU's.

i suppose so. i still think it looks like i'm waiting till at least 23-24 though. probably take em till 23 just to get somewhat normal production levels going.
