~ 1660ti performance according to user benchmark. a bit better it looks like.
they have a good mining performance for the power. So there is that. Also, looking like ETH is not going proof of stake immediately in New Year. Looking more like end of Q1. So these cards could be paid off within that time frame.
What other problems?
I'm just agreeing with you they're taking their slice of the pie..
There's been a lot of money left on the table by industries practically shut down during these times, and other guys are capitalising on that by squeezing the supply pipeline
plenty of things to spend the pie on.
or not to spend it on.
how much for a 10 year old graphics card?
keep inflating assets. until the bubble bursts, or doesn't burst.
bit of a downturn in the stock market over recent dayz.
looking out for discounts myself.
keep squeezing. it's amusing to watch.
Looks like the price will settle above $700... probably more like $750 at guess.. so 10-13% cheaper than a 6600XT..
for the performance of a rtx 2060/2060S / 5600XT.. and less than a 3060..
Meh... I'll look for an upgrade in Q2 2022
Hopefully crypto will crash before then.. however looking at the last 18 months... anything is possible..
the new price point is $1000+for a mid range card and
$2500+ for high end stuff
NVidia and AMD, don't seem to be in any rush to fill the $200 to $800 market with anything decent..
hence how well the secondhand market is holding up..
3080ti for 2600 from pccasegear? I lot of money to upgrade from a 1080.
Just saw a 6700 XT go up for $850 on FB marketplace an hour ago. Messaged the seller. Bet it's already sold. $150 cheaper than all other 6700 XTs on there.
still interested in what the market is like for 10 year old graphics cards.
do they then become retro collectors' items?
I dunno but my 4GB RX580 might net me $300 if I get a replacement. It's absurd. I paid $250 for it 2 years ago.
The effect of specific factors driving up gfx card prices, stacks on top of the general inflationary pressures in the wider world, which are seeing prices of many things rise noticeably. That's one reason why the effect here is so extreme.
what is the price of oil in the middle east? i read somewhere that it is less expensive than water. there. supply far exceeds demand. there.
do a poll on how many graphics cards you own. teehee.
mining farms have thousands of them.
i suppose there are hobbyists with minifarms.
70 Amps---^ @ whatever voltage he is using.
I got the 2mo 6700XT for $850. I'm meeting the seller after work. I don't know what to do with my hands.
If you've got diamond hands, then jesus man stop worrying about money.
Average weight of human hand = 0.46kg
0.46kg in carats = 2300
2300 carats = 460 x 5-carat diamonds
5-carat diamond = $100,000
460 x $100,000 x 2 = $92,000,000
Dont hold your breath, people have been talking about this crypto crash for ages... hasnt happened.... china has banned tons of mining.... hasnt crashed.... more and more people getting involved.... hasnt crashed
Even after all the crypto market large dips bit coin is back up to 70k aud.
So i wouldnt be putting your eggs in that basket if your after a better priced card
Some more fun to the mix, Moore's Law is Dead has found some full tinfoil hat conspiracy price fixing shenanigans from nvidia to keep prices high, but has 5 anonymous sources to back it up.
Yep, groceries here are fucked. Our rough weekly spend went from $100-$150 to $150-$200. That's for 2x slim adults. Growing up my parents used to spend that on our family of 6, and they regularly got steak etc. Don't even get me started on housing costs...
Was browsing the FB marketplate and this popped up..
People are going to extreme lengths to profiteer off shortages, must be an incredible amount of e-waste being generated.
