Can anyone tell me of a method to make a bootable windows xp clone?
google for hirens boot cd
it has a portable copy of windows xp (not sure if its legal or not?) among other tools
No that's not what I am after, I have a friends hard drive from his broken laptop which has in important licensed business management program on it but unfortunately the hard drive slot on the replacement laptop has different plugs. The Idea was to use clonezilla to copy everything over from one to the other then boot from the new computer.
Okay your after recovery tools. If you look up tutorials/video on using norton ghost or clonezilla, you should be good to go....
1. Bootable CD
Some bootable recovery discs available are found here:
ive used hirens boot cd and also ultimate boot cd without issues
Then use either norton ghost or clonezilla (http://clonezilla.org/) to clone the drive.
