Well I suppose if you need to then you can always reinstall previous Creative drivers and all is good again. Just an annoyance I guess. Probably what I'll be doing with bad updates.

Yeah that's right, its the only reason I'd show the new Creative card any attention for the hope that it might have more robust drivers on Win10. For now I'll just put up with it.

    Hey guys

Need some help. Recently purchased a Zx off the forums and am having trouble getting it too work. Have installed the CD_L13_01_10 drivers which say March 17 release.

In device manager this is reported as 6.0.102.50 - 20/12/2016.

Using the analogue plugs, the channels are all mixed up and are different restart to restart. I have tried all combinations to get them in the right channels.

Any ideas if this i the right driver? In device manager the card is listed as a Z instead of Zx.

Headphones either do not work or just crackle.

Using optical works and headphones through the speaker control box.

Tempted to chuck this thing in the bin.

Be careful downloading off creative's website, make sure you manually choose the operating system drop-down because the one they selected for me wasn't for w10 64 bit.

Have you disabled on board audio and removed previous drivers?

Thanks I have uninstalled drivers and disabled via bios.

Speakers are now working - Though front and rear channels are reversed in the sound blaster panel, but are the correct way in windows sound.

Issue now is I just get crackling from the headphones.

Google for other's solution but could be the sound card itself, dirty power in your house (I get that from the freezer), drivers issue, windows issue, to least likely - headphone cable/plug issue.

I have been. Seems there was a driver issue with windows 10. Problem is the driver version that caused the issue I dont have. I seem to have a really old driver set.

I was hoping someone here could look up their drivers and let me know what the latest version is for a Z or Zx

    Thanks

Thanks. That is the version I have.

Will try a different PCIE port and disable crossfire, have heard it can cause issues.

    Thanks

Doubt it with their attention focussed on the gaming RGB striplights card.

I dunno, I've been having an issue in a couple games where itl just decide to sound like its underwater and static.
I'd rather enjoy a driver update right now, even if it's just for shits n giggles.

Could be game related though? As in an issue moreso on the games side?

Sounds exactly like some of the issues I have with my Zx. Sometimes it'll just switch speakers around or off. Sometimes while watching something in 2.0 it'll go crackly and get worse over time. Been like this for a long time now and forum research shows that it's a common set of issues.

Yeah it could be, it does it in Ghost Recon Wildlands so relatively new, and also in Rise of the Tomb Raider so a game that's been around and is stable.
Once it goes though Ill usually quit to windows, then ill have silence, then itl starting going bananas in windows with some crazy distortion. A restart normally fixes it.

I haven't had it switch speakers, but I use headphones so probably less than it can screw up in those instances when it goes nuts.

I have contemplated going for Creatives new AE-5 soundcard, if only for the new set of drivers etc. But It wouldn't be much of an 'upgrade' most likely, unless the amp is more powerful and sounds better than the ZXR.
I like the laser mic and the volume control on the ZXR to, it would probably work on the AE-5 though.
