So my machine's been running a bit sluggish lately and I finally did a bench it:

Those 4k figures look pretty low to me. Is there anything else I can try?

OK just disabled all startup processes and ran it again:

    Quite the difference.

Task manager reporting any tasks with persistent disk usage - antimalware service executable for e.g?

Couldn't find anything. I've disabled all services except Windows ones and will go through each to try and find out which one's the culprit. Painful process though.

Unfortunately don't have that luxury. I've resorted to just disabling all services except the ones required by Windows, and it's fine now. I'll see when I start reusing programs when their services get enabled again and keep an eye on when the slowdown happens (if it does).

Seems about right, I wouldn't suspect much, services like Windows Defender and Windows Update are more than enough to create that kind of impact on your high-QD 4K times.

Did you try to trim it manually? In Windows 10, "Optimize" will issue a trim command. If your PC is sluggish, it could be a memory leak or GPU related (drivers). How did you narrow it down to the SSD?
