Not sure if this is the right place to post,
but I read out there that a custom bios is the way to go to get the extra mile in your overclocks.
Currently these sit at a +120 on the core and +220 on the memory comfortable hitting 40c at max.

I was wondering if a custom bios is the way to go? Or should I just call it a day and stay with them as is?

    Thanks a bunch.

I will obviously do more research before going ahead with this

Plenty of bios editors out there. If you're starting to get frame rate dips etc I would look at squeezing the extra power out of it.

If everything is chugging along nicely I wouldn't bother as it's just going to be more heat dumped into your rig/room

    What is your "end game"?

Raising clocks for benchmark scores or for gaming?

If for benching, then sure (for example you might be chasing the 980Ti leaderboards at hwbot)..

If for gaming, then really not worth the effort.

Mainly just for benchmarking, just something for myself and not really chasing any leaderboards :)

Thanks for the advice! I might have a look to increase the voltage to see if I can break the 1500mhz range on the core and then I'll be happy :D

yeah i had two titan x black's that sat at 1500mhz all day with a custom bios, think they ran in the 60's temp wise

I've had 6 different 980Ti's but only 1 of them would hit 1500mhz stable, a Gigabyte Xtreme but if your temps are good then yeah crank the voltage and go for it.
