Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the 16gb 3070 and 20gb 3080 meant to be released to counter Big Navi? I'm thinking they are probably the equivalent of the Ti models?
I mentioned this in the Nvidia thread but in the Gamers Nexus 3080 tear down video there are ten 1GB memory chips on the PCB and two blank pads for two more chips. I suspect that it will be a 12GB card with more cores or it gets too close to the 3090 and reduces sales of that card. My thought is also that it will be there to counter AMD just in case. Drop the 3080 price, insert the 3080S/Ti/BJ/Cocaine model.
That would be because of the bus, doubt they would unlock the full bus for the 3080, I'm sure they will unlock more cores when the "process improves"
Yeah, I think I am wrong. Further discussion in that thread put it out there that the 3090 probably uses the same PCB. It has twelve chips per side of the PCB for the 24GB.
night city wire 3rd ep in about 45 minutes https://www.twitch.tv/cdprojektred this ep is about locations & gangs and possibly system requirements.
Compensating for something? I was expecting more than 70GB and a higher tier GPU in the recommended specs.
Hahah. Interesting thing is those are minimum & req, but it implies there's a lot of potential for higher quality with better specs. The old PC I built back in mid 2015 would fit the recommended spec. The new one with a 9900k and a future 3080 obliterates it.
That is my hope too. My old i7 3820 would also have done fine except for the CF 7970's I think. Now with the 3900X and a new GPU I will be cruising. At launch I will probably still have the 1080Ti which will be fine and then when I get the to be GPU (post some CP2077 benchmarks) we may see some mods out there. I got the impression from the level designer guy talking that they haven't used the published material on Night City as much as I hoped. Having all of the actual UBD style source books from the table top game I was looking forward to being able to use them while cruising around the city. I am pretty sure I will get over it and am still super excited to have a new Night City to explore.
Surprisingly low recommended specs. Would recommended be still 1080p? I wonder what you would need for 1440 EDIT: did a bit of research recommended specs are a bit of bull Control recommends gtx1060, but on low settings you get 60fps 1080
Surely that's a typo and they mean GTX 2060 recommended?! 1060 gets ~60fps in Witcher 3 at 1080p Just checked their recommended specs for Witcher 3 against a benchmark. Recommended system only gets ~30fps at 1080p. Probably safe to assume the 1060 would only get 30fps at 1080p in this. More digging. Those specs are almost deceptively low. They must be aiming for 1080p low @30fps for min specs and 1080p high @30fps for recommended min specs.
Yeah, in my head I was prepared for anything upwards of 100GB. I am hoping for some kind of ultra-mega-cocaine resolution texture pack or similar to fill up my 2TB SSD.
As long as it meets a certain minimum I don't know that the CPU is super important. I would be more inclined to put money into a GPU than upgrade the CPU.
On a 1080ti now. Likely won't change until a while system build, probably around the 4080 time... haha
