if you d/c while bound you die now (latest patch atleast)
anyone interested in a hit sometime?
im new to dayz and only played limited arma before.
however 11 day weekend spells for some gaming sessions
purchased dayz and spent maybe 30 mins just seeing what it was like. spawned, then within 10 seconds someone hit me and made me unconscious, spawned again and spent the next 29 mins roaming a town, searching houses and generally wondering and saw 0 zombies and 0 humans... am i missing something?? lol.
add me on steam: yeggless
I spent a good few hours collecting gear today - got an M4, a pistol and a Mosin all geared up.
Character was going AWESOME... then got shot from long range dead...
Welcome to dayZ boys, its been like this since the early days of the mod when people got bored of being friendly
Died twice last night, both times to people ghosting and once the guys shots didnt get heard by anyone in the group due to masssssive dysnc.
Ok couple questions ... How do you hold 2 x primary weapons and pistol?
How do you ghost ppl?
Ghosting is disconnecting from one server, logging into another and moving to an advantageous position before logging back into the original server.
A frowned upon exercise which will hopefully see people punished for doing so in future patches.
Ahh ok Ive been calling them server hoppers
Been watching ngotie on twitch
His entire clan of 7 became victim to this at the large airport up north
Probably watching his stream at the same time ... Bastards lol
Wasn't holding them in my hands, had them in my backpack.
I hope they do a change server = spawn on the beach style system.
Random spawns all over the map would be pretty cool. Or even being able to select a region to spawn in, like cutting the map up into 6 or so sections. Would make spawning with friends much easier. But make it so you cant spawn in the region you died.
But then you introduce another batch of problems, for example, last night we were on a server where the pings spiked to 500, we said F that, and jumped over to a server with a much better ping, if that rule was in place, all 4 of us would then randomly spawn at a beach and then have to go about trying to find each other again.
Oooooor if your net drops for a second, you get disconnected, you rejoin and because that would seem to the server like you are trying to Ghost, it bounces you back to a random coast because there's no real way of telling if you are Ghosting or changing servers for a legitimate reason.
Bottom line is, don't be jealous of my super Operator M4 and mad ladder climbing skillz.
It's alright, he told me to "look after" his silenced M4.
I'm "taking care" of it.
So the Standalone has proven to be a whole heap of fun
Currently I'm at the Nothern Airfield but I think I need some blood, vision is quite blurry after taking a few hits earlier. I have the blood bag kit, but no blood. If anyone is up for playing doctor
Being a doc in standalone is actually much harder. For one, blood bags aren't filled with blood (you have to draw blood from a healthy person to get blood in them), and not only that, but you'll need a test kit to make sure you don't get an allergic reaction to the blood because of the wrong blood type and go permanently unconscious.
So yeah, doubt we'll be seeing any Dr Wastelands soon.
I read today its best to give someone a saline bag to give them color vision back and restore basic health, then fill them full of food, then full kf water
Joining the same server because you got kicked for high ping is simple as logs will show you havent entered any other servers. And for the switching server issue, allow people to join 2 different servers every 30min.
Blurry vision is a bug, go to the video config menu in game andit should clear up magically.
Played for a while, few thoughts.
I got a bag full of food, a lot of water, an M4 with 120 rounds, a HK USP style pistol. Why bother keep playing?
1. Too hungry, too thirsty. You don't die in 30 minutes of hunger.
2. too frustrating running from one side of the map to the other with no point.
3. Give us cars to fix, at least that way my friends and I can build a base camp, store our stuff and enjoy ourselves.
4. Planes and helicopters please.
5. Zombies walking through doors, really?
6. Lots of little things that were issues in DayZ, that should of been the first thing to be fixed are left.
I hope they use my thirty dollars to fix some issues, and I'll play again in six months.
