Did you not like MGSV? I thought it was great (except for the missing final act... but that wasn't exactly Kojima's fault)

Nah, but I don't like open world games. Skyrim being the exception.

We can all agree that this game is certainly more artistic than MGS, it won't be for everyone.

MGSV sucked, because it wasn't a true MGS game.

    Also, no David Hayter.

Why wasn't it a true MGS game?

At least it wasn't MGS4 where half of the game was cinematics and you had to swap out the disk for every act, wait for the previous act to uninstall and then for the new act to be installed... god damn that was annoying

But yeah, I really liked MGSV.

it was more spinoff than anything, had a shit barely unfinished story and grindy repeated missions with a heavy focus on motherbase. Play MGS1, 2, 3 and 4 and tell me it's even close to being the same.

It should have been called Peace Walker 2 because that's what it was. It was not to most MGS fans a true S entry.

    Not arguing, just inquiring.

All I know is I like the original MGS on PS1, that's the only one I've played.

giving it an S and a numbered entry was my biggest problem. If it had been called Peace Walker 2 I would have completely skipped it.

I've played MGS1-5 inclusive, and I can tell you now they're all radically different games. Some I *love*. Some I *hate*. And I've noticed others feel the same, but we all disagree on which we love and which we hate.

Don't ever make assumptions with Kojima.

The only MG game I haven't liked is portable ops because of the PSP controls, that stopped me playing it not having the same controls as the Playstation.

MGS3 would have been a solid fave, but MGS2 has come up equal to it due to how applicable the themes are today.

As for Death Stranding, bring it on!

hey what? MGS4 was on one disk. Option to full install at the start...Otacon and snake even have a joke about not having to swap the disk because its on a bluray

Was it really? What am I thinking of then, it was on PS3... maybe just the chapter installing part.

Due to the original PS3 disk size, MGS4 installed in chapters, so would install the data for each chapter as and remove the previous chapter to conserve drive space. It's only with the much bigger slim versions of the PS3 that it was patched to do a full install.

Ditto. I got to the same point with MGS5 pre-release. Half the fun of Kojima games is stumbling across weird crap for yourself. Not interested in spoiling it with these long gameplay videos.

i'm considering the SE, not 100% sold on it yet though.

    https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/ps4/244380-death-stranding-special-edition

man those LE consoles, you'd be surprised where they end up. i think the bulk of them get bought just by schmucks who throw out everything (boxes etc), trash the device and you see them pop up in poor condition a few years down the track (almost always with the controller missing). undoubtedly there will be some that will never be unsealed and passed from collector to collector - but where's the fun in that!? Same with SE of the games themselves, the amount of times i've seen them sleeveless in the bargain bins blows my mind, why buy a SE if all you are gonna do is immediately turf the sleeve and then trade it later for cents on the dollar.
