This is getting damned silly. I realise it is a small market, but if you want a smartphone, you're stuck with Apple or Win Mobile. Ugh.

still its a pity if that article about them not being launched in Australia is true

Well if I can't get a Nexus tomorrow then I will be ordering a Milestone, seeing as the HTC Passion/Bravo is not due in the states till April and later here :(

    It's been confirmed that it's HSPA 900 / 1700 / 2100 and GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900mhz, so that article is wrong.

    sigh read the article again

AT&T run 850mhz 3g network (or "nextG" as telstra likes to call it) while T-Mobile runs the more standard 900/2100 so it will work with the 3/Optus/Vodaphone networks in Australia

We are now going iPhones (on NextG) at work... arrrgh. Would have much preferred an Android device, ideally like this. We also run GoogleApps for our mail, this would be just perfect for it.

Hopefully the new HTC range will have some serious Android phones on UTMS850.

Want one more now, but the finish still looks like shit compared to the iPhone. Need a solid black one without the rubber shit on the back. Glass screen?

That original article about not available in AU and it being 2G only is from one of the worst sources of tech news on the internet. It also doesn't help their case that they have been plagurising other sites and blogs for years.

Ok then. In the ToS there is plenty of clear indication that the buyer will be responsible for their countries import taxes and duties when purchasing a Nexus One, therefore, doesn't that make it pretty clear that importing will be a perfectly fine option?

Also of note, for those wanting/needing NextG, the rumours for a 850mhz AT&T compatiable handset have merit in that in July, AT&T's exclusive contract for the Apple iPhone will end or come up for renewal, at this time, they might choose to go for a Nexus One phone. Hence why a lot of the rumours indicate that there might be a 850mhz phone available midyear.

I'm also not liking the latest information that it might indeed be a delayed (for public) launch, as I have my browser ready to purchase my Nexus One. :D
