Haha, yeah that's closer to where I'm at
Your work is impressive mate
Like i said still a WIP
Got a good deal on a bunch of 24's and decided to put em to good use
Some new top shelving and a new work bench was added a few weeks back to work in with the new screens.
Nothing special just basic LG's but for 50 a pop was worth the purchase.
The first idea was just to sit em up top in their new home, but this just wasnt the look i was after and i really didnt want all the weight to be on that floating top shelf.
So i decided to fab up a quick custom bracket and tripple mount. Nothing special just some thing good enuf to hold all three.
It wasnt till i laid these down side by side to measure up that i got how long this mount needed to be!
Out with the old stick welder and some old left over box tube from the gaming tables to knock up a qick mount.
Once i was happy with the fit i welded on a connecting arm and a few coats of satin black to finish it off.
A braced "T" mount is made up from an old lintel and screwed direct to the the hardwood uprights. A 2" support hook is added above for a chain JIC of a misshap
The whole unit can be bolted as one and a safety chain is added for that just in case moment!
Next was to add power and the HDMI cables
The custom white Fractal mini PC on the left runs all three monitors, The right PC is a empty case to balance the look.
A few other upgrades inc extending the benches and adding thicker matching top shelves and the addition of my custom made bookshelf speakers.
Still a work in progress........
god, its like a blast from the past between seeing Defyant post in the modding thread and the old BBQ pub pictures surfacing!
Looks amazing mate! Long time fan here!
Just came across his thread. One word, WOW.
A credit to you. Amazing skills.
That is just an insane setup. Wow.
Your talent is sickening !
Nicely done mate. RGB's aren't to my taste but the rest of that certainly is .
Did you do a thread or anything on that little entertainment centre build thing I'm keen to do something similar. eg Speakers modded in what way?
Cheers again Vlad
My one true passion DIY speakers! those are a based on a DIY set i found on the net years ago.
They use the old jaycar vifa combo. I fell in love with these years ago when building my first TL's. I did do a post here about them but i think it's on the old PB and the links are broken.
I'm just about to start a new set for inside so i can keep these in the shop
just a few build pics but if you want the full worklog with specs etc just lemme know.
1. do you work in there or its just hobby shed
2. do you have solar panels or own shares in energy company
3. when can you come to my place
Cheers Phil, it's a work/hobby shed i do all my headlight and tail light mods in there (for coin) and do my hobbies(for cost)
It's not as bad as you would think energy wise.... i dont always run the monitors unless the V8's are on ... then thyr on all day but the rest of the lighting is mostly the LED strips and they all run from a single 5amp supply.
Quiet cost effective.
A small update with the addition of a vertical test bench , the idea is to have modular panels that the hardware bolts to and i can move them around on the mesh as needed. Then add more panels for atx matx and gpu
The whole mesh panel swings out from the wall to make cable management a little easier... I think once i get a nice sleeved PSU it should look pretty cool.
Also grabbed some cool "pop up" stealthy power boards from bunno's! will add 2 more to the work area over time.
Exactly what I've been after for a while now, had them sitting in my ebat watch list for ages and never got around to buying. They look great. Just have to get dimensions and see if the Arlec ones will fit my existing desk hole
10 bux each yellow sticker!!! i brought 3
Hole size 60mm
