    Dell's 24-inch, Ultrasharp 2408WFP monitor for $999 buys you into a 1,900 x 1,200 resolution, 178-degree viewing angle, 1,300:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 6-ms response, and 102% color gamut. Standard stuff until you get to the vast suite of jacks: HDMI, 2x DVI, DisplayPort, VGA, Composite, S-Video, Component, a single USB upstream, and 2x USB downstream.

    Product Features

    102% ? how does that work. Oh, and they've left off the cardreader :thumbdn:

    edit: and the contrast ratio has dropped from 1000:1 to 300:1.

    yep true, but from what he was hinting before he went on holiday it should be very soon. I'll still be waiting for it to drop in price a bit before i buy one.

    From the user manual it looks like it still inc. on the monitor. As for the Color Gamut its because of the "7 CCFL U-type system Backlight" system and the processing engine.

    I'm surprised they removed teh card readers... must of saved them $2 in manufacturing costs

    good chance the inverse ghosting bug won't be in this one seeing as it will be a different panel :p

    wonder if they will exchange old 2407wfp's for these 2408's in ~6 months time under next day replacement guarantee :weirdo:

    from the user manual it has a 2 slot reader which supports:

    I was going to say, that's crazy. Phew! Can't see why they would have gotten rid of it anyways. Seems to be a popular addition to these minitors, I know I used mine al the time.

    yer, and it now has xD card support, which is what my point and shoot camera has. wish my 2407 has xD support :upset: sux having to use a usb cable all the time and using more precious battery power

    no one knows atm, hard to find any reviews. But i'm very keen on getting one JUST for the extra connections which i'll use now and in the future..
