This topic is specifically about the 2408WFP and not really other models.

This is not the last 16:10 ratio screen, Read up further (not long ago) as this was already discussed. Dell are still making 16:10 models.

Found the settings and turned off the sounds.

    Thanks.

My 2408 WFP A01 now has a vertical cyan line on the right side when it is turned on. Line goes away after it warms up but I'm guessing it will deteriorate rapidly.

Trying to work out the warranty on it now... anyone know how I can check if it has 3 or 5 years? It is at or just after the three year anniversary mark :wired:

Looked at Dell's online warranty checker but it wants a service tag and there doesn't appear to be one. The invoice does say it includes "Dell Services: Future Technical Support [205-11768]" but no detail on warranty duration.

Any help would be appreciated

Without the service tag you're in trouble I think... give them a call.

What exactly is a service tag? Should my Dell screens have one?

Its just a serial number on the back of some monitors and most pre-built systems.
Usually asked for by the service people to quickly bring up info about warranty/address etc.

My U2311 didn't have one whereas my U2711 did so the only way to tell is to flip it around and have a looksy.

I take your 360H and raise it to 1479h 40m . Whats that? 180+ days with 8hr/day usage.......... stuff me. And I only just unpacked it :|

This is on a REPLACEMENT U2410 sent to me today. It was to replace my 2410 which like others developed the strips of dead/stuck pixels on the right hand side. There's actually nothing wrong with the U2410 but it seems like it was also returned due to a issue (going by the backlight time). So I ain't accepting that.. On the phone tomorrow see how I go.

FYI to others it came in a standard looking dell box by itself, with plastic and foam supports. Not new packaging.

Ring em, thats what I did. I quoted my order number which I had and they also ask for the serial number. It was fairly painless. but now its a pain having a replacement monitor that is almost 180days old ><

Looks like I need to send a 2408 screen back to Dell. Does anyone know if I'll need to box it up in anything for pickup?

Also, what screen should I expect to have it replaced with? It's still within the 3 year premium warranty.

Can you run 2 of these with a 2405 in Nvidia surround at 5760*1200?

Is the sync polarity compatible with each other?

Obviously, it is not new but a refurb...I do not think that you going to get a new one. Initially, shortly after the purchase you might get a new replacement however down the track they send you reconditioned units... that's how the Dell rolls...

Does anyone know if I can use a u2410 stand on a u2711?

    I'm buying a u2711 but it doesn't come with a stand.

    Most likely not
The spring in the stands are very different

Best bet might be to troll internetz for a spare stand or eBay
