This Dell U3415W is a beast of a screen, that width is beyond Mars.

Don't have any issues with my new screen, unlike all the backlight bleeding others have stated in this thread.

Coming from a Dell 2709W, i'm going to have to get use to the bigger resolution.

Only downside is some older games won't support the resolution.

But full HD movies with the 21:9 ratio feels like a cinema experience.

I use one for work and it's brilliant. Much easier on the eyes than two 24 inch.

Just have to wait for another sale to get more for the office.

I think people can be extremely picky with monitors these days.

The backlight bleed in the top left corner of my U3415W has increased if anything. My rev is 00.

Has anyone been able to replace it under warranty for a new one, and found the replacement better?

I have, but I think it may be down to luck.

Mine was originally A00 and was one of the first batch to go out. Was replaced with a A01.

No idea what's the cheapest ever, but for $1149 I think you got it for a good price.

Damn, had finally made a decision to sell my 3415 and keep the Philips 40" but this thing is so much more expensive now vs the Philips >.<

Ok, the bleed got slightly worse, so I made the call last week. They needed some extra screenshots, and the next morning I had the replacement. :)

OOTB it was still a bit on the bleedy side, maybe more over a general area, however I let it condition for a good while and now it's starting to come to. It's not completely free of bleed, however certainly a lot better than the old one.

Which will hold me over until such a time that I can get an OLED ultrawide.

I found after calibrating the monitor the bleeding is not as visible as the brightness from factory is quite high.

The bleed doesn't really both me too much as I'm not playing a lot of dark games, or watching movies.

I've got a 43" Crossover 4k panel on order which will arrive here next week, will see how it compares. I may keep both, but after having a play around with the Phillips VA I'm a bit torn

    :)

My old monitor had rather significant bleed. The bleed in the new one is negligible. It's there, if I look for it, but hardly worth getting worried about.

That top left is meant to be pretty dark. It's nowhere near dark.

I've got similar bleed on all corners, I really don't find them annoying or that bad. Normal day to day stuff its fine.

Other than diablo 3 that I play regularly at the moment (and console) I have black bars on the left and right which I can see the bleed but never bothered me. When I play something full res, I don't notice it at all.

It was a bit hard to capture the bleed issue 100% realistically - however quite a few of my titles are very dark, including is e.g. Elite Dangerous. I play this in a dark room with my lightpack on a dark red for background, and I will even turn off the side monitors. Here, the bleed issue on my previous monitor was standing out like an eyesore.

The new one still has slight bleeding, more on the bottom than top actually, however it is indeed very slight and way under my "worry about it" threshold. Overall it's a huge improvement on the old monitor.

I have to give kudos to Dell for the way they handled my warranty claim - and I will keep buying Dell monitors for that reason. They are very fast with the advance forward shipping, and you have 10 business days to arrange for old one to be picked up - just tape the box together, put on the pre-printed sticker, and give Startrack a call. So easy.

Compare that to the ROG SWIFT monitors, and what those poor owners have to put up with .. weeks if not months of downtime, only to have to repeat when their replacement fails.
