108ppi. I expected better from dell's new models
It's the same resolution as the 2711. You won't see big jumps in resolution/pixel density for a few years yet.
Anyways, it's not a direct replacement for the 2711 either (the same way the 2412 wasnt a replacement for the 2410), because it's LED Backlit and not wide gamut (only 99% srgb coverage).
Dell rep on whirlpool mentioned that the tech to make an LED backlit wide gamut ips screen isn't economical yet.
It uses the same antiglare 3H coating.
The stand allows pivot.
It has usb 3.0, but no card reader.
8ms response instead of 6ms.
So, similar to the differences between the 2410 and 2412M, but the u2412M is $400 cheaper than the 2410, not just $100.
Thanks for the link, added the details to the first post.
Finally LED backlight lol, same AG coating though.... big fail.
I expected better from Dell given the competition at the moment.
That coating suits the room I use my PC in, very well lit, which looks horrible on glossy screens. It is a harsh coating, but works very well!
no 120hz but to be expected.
Does dual link DVI even have the bandwidth for 120hz at that res?
Dell can go take a leap......a Catleap!
No, but Displayport and HDMI 1.4 do.
Yes it does. Refer to 120hz.net.
RRP seems to be $100 less than 2711.
Could be good if its discounted lik ethe 2711 was.. Put it at around $500.
People pay that for OC 120Hz models korean models. Given the inputs, dell stand/build/replacements could be a good buy.
yep it does!
You just need a gpu that can do it, which any HD 7 series gpu and most gtx 670's/680's can.
Probably the best thing about this new model is the pivot.
Anyone who's used an ultrasharp monitor knows they have good stands
Happy I took the plunge early and decided to by Samsungs instead... as it turned out there wasn't anything killer to wait for
So what are the best 27" high-res monitors on the market at the moment?
EG: i was thinking of getting a U2711, but are there other options to consider?
Personally purchased three Samsung S27A850T's. I had two U2711's before, but sold them off because of the AG...
Had these now for a month or so, much better for the sort of work I do (programming/productivity).
I have a S27A850T that is absolutely brilliant.
