Last year our Bali trip was cancelled due to the volcano eruptions which resulted a pretty awesome camping trip to the Myall Lakes. We decided on a whim to go later in the year in December, even though it was 'wet' season. We are very glad we went, only just got around to editing all the digital shots.

We stayed in 4 main spots. Padang Padang -> Canggu -> Lovina -> Ubud

Here are some of my favourites (a few I may have shared in the weekly thread). Few film frames thrown in, though I havent scanned/developed it all yet.

    great set of images!
Heading to Bali for a family thing next year, probably wont get too much time to go and explore - tips for good spots not too far from the Seminyak region?

    What a great set!

I love the colours in #6 and the minimalism of #17 and #20 work nicely.
The lines of the waves and the choice to keep the cliff silhouetted in #25 is ace.

I'm a big fan of your framing and composition in your landscape shots. I recon the space you leave is really effective.

    Thanks for sharing mate

    Thanks dudes

Just get a driver and go see some things for the day. Ask to go up towards Ulun Danu Batur and stop at the rice fields on the way up/back. Its a great day trip, you see lots of country side and you will get to take some photos as well

Thanks man! Knew you would pick one of the film shots :) I look forward to getting all the film finished from the trip!

Appreciated dude. Yeah I like things having a bit of breathing room, but also just love using lines and intersections to draw the eye in photos. I am thinking about maybe trying to do a session with a Digital Enlarger and printing #25 in the darkroom!

Nice stuff, inspiring as always  Wish I could go on a trip like this one day, hah so poor.

Also which digital enlarger do you plan on using? When I was @ Blanco negro he doesn't rent out the digital devere unfortunately. Unless you can make a convincing case you know how to use it ;)

Haha you will get there mate, its not that much to travel there (whole trip for 10 days cost us about $3k including flights).

I spent years working and not going anywhere!

I also thought he rented it for use, might just need to pay the man to do a print with it for me then :)

soon soon, working 3 crappy jobs atm and this thread ain't helping either :upset:

Maybe have a chat with him, he shot me down instantly though heh. Walked me though the basics of how to use it though, its old, finicky and a real pta to work with. I'd offer to print once my darkroom is up :)

Anyways looks like you had a good trip, can't wait for the rest of the film stuff
