Hey all, my razer barracuda HP-1 headset microphone is not up to scratch. the input volume of the mic is extremely low even with mic boost enabled. Does anyone know of a workaround? My only theory is to buy a cheap headset with a 3.5mm mono detachable mic and use it as a replacement. Can you suggest some headsets that have suitable mics?

I don't think the Barracuda headsets are up to scratch fullstop. I had to RMA one & the replacement's still stuffed, just in a different way.

Anyway, got a spare mic from the RMA one if you want it. Tried plugging any other 3.5mm mic into the jack?

I tried a crappy $9.95 dick smith mic in there, and it works fine, going through the headset and through the soundcard.

How much for the spare mic?
